Dial up is for the birds.... almost a useless waste with today's communications, and we have always dreamed of the time we would move past the dark ages. That day is here!!! Got a notice in today's mail-- Monday--- we order!!!! YEAH!!!! HSI - here we come! |
|
Good luck -- I hope it works well for you at your address... faster access to oes.org pictures! |
Woohoo Lori
It wasn't that long ago that we got rid of dialup. Same case here - no other options out in the country. Then a local wireless company got the bright idea of putting dishes for wireless connections on tall objects. If you could put your receiver dish in direct (visual) line with the sending one - you could get service. So, we get ours from the top of the grain elevator 5 miles away in town. Lucky us! The other option was to get signal from the town on the opposite side of us - their's is on top of the water tower. |

I hope so too!! I hardly ever post pictures -- it is like molasses in January waiting for them to load! |
I am about two hours outside of NYC and little over half an hour from ALbany NY - okay SMallbany NY, but still its thre capital of NYC for heaven's sake and I can't get dsl! i can get cable now but only because I moves 45 miles west of shere i used to live.
the patchy system of Telecommunications in the US is embarrassing! |
Congrats!!
You're going to LOVE DSL!! |
Woo hoo!!!! You will LOVE it! |
Congratulations!! We just got DSL a year ago, it took lots of phones calls to get them to bring it to my area. |
Congrats, Lori! I'm still in the one mile section of my county that every provider refuses to service. So, I definitely share your excitement. If it weren't for cable here at the office, I'd never go online. |
whhooo hoo for you! |
I'm impressed that you managed over 700 posts on dial up. Just imagine how quickly your post count will jump up on DSL |

You aren't kidding, I have dial up and it took 24 minutes to load 4 pictures last night Going into the chat is fun, my reply hits the screen about 6 topics later |
I can't even imagine having to deal with dialup again
Have fun! |
