Hello from British Columbia
I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself . I'm Katherine and I live in beautiful British Columbia . Not too far from Marianne ,whom many of you know. We also have a vacation property in Washington State so we feel like weekend Americans . My husband and I are middle aged , no children and the devoted parents to two poodles. Ned,a parti coloured standard poodle and a miniature poodle called Amber. As partis are extremely rare here Ned was sometimes mistaken for a sheepie as a young puppy. Both my dogs are well socialized with the typical poodle personalities. Very curious and fun loving and sometimes a little too smart for their Mom and Dad. But basically easy dogs to live with. I have lurked on this board for awhile but took the plunge and finally became a member. Its an awesome group and I've already learned so much about the breed and dog stuff in general. Also laughed a lot too. We fosterd for years mostly goldens,shelties and cockers and lots and lots of mixed breed puppies .We were younger then (smile ) However, we have always wanted an OES. They are pretty much none existent in rescue in the Pacific Northwest - which is a very good thing - so we are looking further afield. Should you know of one needing a foster /rehome/rescue please think of us ? We are dog gender and age neutral . I am really enjoying all aspects of this forum and apart from dogs am a passionate cook and eater . If you are looking for me I'll be in the recipe section ! |

Please feel free to post pictures of your poodles, too. We like them, too. I saw my first parti-colored standard poodle about a year and a half ago. It was a beauty. |

While we are all about sheepdogs....and our familys, food, current gossip, etc, etc! - we also love other dogs as well. Lots of us have other breeds too and chat about how they all make up our families. I bet Marianne will find you a dog to foster pretty darn quick!!  |

| Welcome! Have you contacted Ray Salmon and Ann Rambaud? They are up in Lantzville. They are pretty much in contact with the shelter(s) in their area for sheepies and beardies.
Sounds like a lovely family. I think a sheepie might work in there well. |

Oh how rude of me - I didn't greet you when you arrived. Welcome!!! Please accept my humble apologies for being so late. I'll keep my ears open for any sheepies that need rescuing. You're right they are so rare in our area I've only come across 4 OES and 2 mixes in the past 25 years in shelters. It's how I got two of mine long ago who are now at the bridge. Sometimes they are people willing to do transport as the Eastern States has many many needing homes. Flying them to Seattle where you can do a pick up is an option. Perhaps fill in an application with some of the US rescues as you never know. I got Panda boy who is in my avatar all the way from Hong Kong when I least expected it. | Welcome. I had a Standard Poodle and an OES together and it was a perfect combination. They played great. Good luck on finding a rescue. I am sure the right one will come along with patience. |
