So if it is the port, is it worth having it replaced, or should I just get a new computer? I got my current laptop for free from someone at work. I trust them--her husband gets a new one every year or so I got last year's model. And what is the differnce between a notebook and a laptop? I don't haul mine around, just from the floor to the dining room table... |

If there is not a light flashing on the card, chances are it is your card and not your laptop. Since I work for Sprint and we have a service center here, that has been what we usually find. I cannot promise, but that would be my best guestimate. Make sure you find a store with a SErvice Center, if not, you will just have to haul it somewhere else. |
Is still uses a card? How old is it? |
They make the standard and express slot cards now. Not real sure which one she has, but it could be a relatively new computer with the express card slot. |
The computer died. I bought a new laptop Tuesday night and will pick it up tonight. I confess I bought it at Best Buy and the Geek Squad is doing something to it. The former laptop was a year or so old and I got the card in October so it was hardly antiquated. |
