We have had 5 sheepies up until now, the first three were docked and when they were sleeping or just relaxing used to stick their tongues out very slightly, this always amused my wife and myself we used to call this the tongue in cheek position. At the moment we have two at home which are not docked and the curious thing is they never do have their tonges sticking out (only when laughing), this is probably coincidence but I was wondering how many of you have sheepies that stick their tongues out whilst sleeping and if they are docked or undocked. Look forward to hearing from you all. |

That is curious Stewart, but Violet is docked and I have never noticed her tongue sticking out when she is asleep. Her tongue usually is only sticking out when she is panting.
It will be interesting to see the results for the other sheepies/ |
No tongues here either. Mine are both docked. |
Docked and only sticks his tongue out after exercise or when it is really hot out.
But - he is laying next to me and farting - badly!! |
Three docked...none sleep with their tongues out.
But we have plenty of tongue when they're awake! |
Mr Obe is docked and his tongue sticks out. Cracks me up. I'm sure I have a pic somewhere in my photos here of it. |
Rufus is not docked & sticks his tounge out a little, he just looks at me with it sticking out a bit when he is not panting. It does look really funny, I will have to try & get a pic one day. |
Clyde is very undershot so he ALWAYS has his tongue out. |
i want to say that i have seen panda sleep with her tongue out....but not frequently enough for me to give a firm YES...i think so....hows that for a darcy answer...oh and she is docked! |
Ellie doesn't seem to have enough room in her mouth to house all of her tongue. Every now and then when she sleeps her tongue will stay out so long it starts to dehydrate and become red. I touch it when this happens to make her pull it in for a little moisture. She is docked. |
No tongue sticking out here when sleeping |
