We are a family that has recently recieved an OES pup. Has anyone one heard that Vitamin C reduces the the risk of hip displasia(sp)? I have heard conflicting reports about this. Does anyone have anybody have any information about this? Thank you, Wild Bill |

Bill -
I have delt with a sheepie who had HD and it is certainly very common in OES. Here is a website that may give you a good overview of the OES in general. http://www.k9web.com/dog-faqs/breeds/oes.html#medical I would highly recommend talking with the people at www.neoesr.org about this question. They are very knowlegable on anything having to do with OES. Or the OESCA via their websites as well. I am sorry I do not know the answer to your question but hope these links will help you. Cheers! Sorry Wild Bill, don't know about that rumor but I've heard about another- not letting puppies go up more then one step before they're 6months old. I have no idea about the truth of this but thought I'd bring it up just in case. |
Bill, I haven't heard anything about vitamin c, but I have used a glucosamine suplement, and just recently I found an all natural suplement called joint rescue that seems to help a great deal. You can find out more about Joint rescue at http://www.arknaturals.com/webvet/index ... _dysplasia |
