His routine when going out back is to sniff the air and then check the yard. We have a wild rabbit that took up residence back in the spring. He usually sits in the middle of the yard sunning himself. When Mojo spots him the game is on. Bunny waits until Mojo is about 10 feet away before taking off. Mojo herds him down the yard, zigzags behind the pool, back up the yard and out the hole in the front fence. Mojo has never made an attempt to actually catch him and after all this time, bunny knows there is a dog in the yard and keeps coming back. This morning bunny changed the rules. After being chased down and halfway back, bunny stopped right where he started and rested. Mojo stopped about 10 feet back and just looked. He did his little wigglebutt dance step wanting bunny to go and bunny just sat there. A few more dance steps and nothing. It took some barking and bouncing to get him moving again and out the hole. Also, we have had subzero weather the last few days and bunny found a nice spot to keep warm, in the little space between the house and the hot tub. Oh, if Mojo only knew who was sleeping right behind him!! |

Sounds like Mojo and the bunny are good friends. |

One lap around the yard isn't a lot of exercise but it does happen a few times a day. We have a opossum that comes in the yard too. But it won't play the game. It just plays dead and Mojo doesn't understand. He'll bark and bark at it. I have to go out and drag him in. |
How fun! What a great game for both of them to play. They're buddies like the fox and the hound. |
Methinks maybe Mojo wants his own sheep?
(No chomping, just chasing, Mom.) No wonder he gets so frustrated with the 'possum. Darn thing is supposed to MOVE! It obviously never read the sheepdog manual. Sheesh! Nice of the bunny to be more accommodating. Kristine |
There is one thing not right on that picture... he is BRIGHT white and OUTSIDE!!!! How is that? |

There is an explanation. Mojo is a PRISS!!! He hates to go out if it is raining and avoids puddles and mud. I can't complain though because it is nice that he doesn't get very dirty. But we do tease him about it. It is funny to watch him look for the best way to get to the back of the yard when it is yucky. |
When we had feral bunnies (domesticated that had been turned loose), MO took great delight in chasing them. One day and older/injured/scared rabbit stopped and dropped to the ground. MO bounced on it. No bites, in fact she was bewildered, "Now what??" Eventually the coyotes cleaned up all the feral bunnies and MO lost her playmates |
WOW - what a fun game!! And that picture of Mo sleeping is priceless! |

Lumpi my lab/greyhound mix. And Boni. |
Dont feel alone, Obe hates the rain, avoids puddles, doesn't swim, just play and pet me I'm clean. Love the story not sure how my boy would do. If anything like a squirrel it would be bad, luckily he can't catch them. |
