Uncanny; we have the same situation. Same sires, but my two pups have different dams; who I believe are sisters.
Tonks is larger than Luna, even though they are only 5 days apart. Tonks has a typical sheepdog puffy coat; Luna's is more unruley and wavy in all different directions. Even though they are only 12 weeks old; I see a huge difference between them. when they were 3 and 4 weeks old: And now. I know its not easy to see, but Tonks (in the covers) is WAY fluffier than Luna(on top): |
MO...the one on the left in the avatar...is barely 60 lbs and below the height for the breed, plus she has very little undercoat. Hair very straight. Strong as an ox, legs of steel, herding instict plus.
Jack, not in the avatar, 105 lbs and tall, too big really (IMHO) and had the thickest, curliest coat I've even encountered. All brushed out he would be huge. He has bad hips and his left shoulder isn't quite right. (judging from his dented teeth, he was kept in a crate for his childhood and never developed properly.) He has a round house gait in the front, weak back legs. And he's also the most vocal, whining, yapping, grumbling about everything. Both rescues from a puppy mill in the southern part of the state. Your little schnauzer is adorable as well. |
