So, letting him out this morning woke me up because I'm right by the backyard and the back door. That annoyed me. Then what does Roofus do? What any american boy unsupervised in a yard of mud does! DIG! The dog is filthy. I see it through my window and ask roomie why he wasn't watching the dog. "I just let him out" he mumbles (he let him out fifteen minutes earlier and was now watching cartoons). Grumbling I do my internet stuff. I hear barking a little later - roommate's solution was to just let Roofus stay outside and continue to dig in the yard! I asked him why Roofus was still outside - "because he'll track dirt through the house." Well, I can see how he's getting cleaner by digging around some more outside! Roomie gives me a disgusted "whatever" noise, and I put roo back in his crate. I JUST gave roofus a bath not three days ago. It uses almost half a bottle of shampoo at one time. It takes me 45 minutes to get out all the filth. I hadn't even really woken up yet and I already have another task in my already busy day! I am so angry right now I am hiding in here because I'd really like to beat my roommate into a pulp! THANKS for letting my dog out! It was so helpful! |

Chill out there. I've got Simone, Queen MUD DOG. I've quit obsessing about the mud. When she comes in she gets a quick rub down which removes some of the mud and then she goes to her "spot." There she has a throw rug and can nap, dry and shed her mud. When she wakes up a quick brush with......of all things......a clothes brush......removes most of the remainder.
No, she's not sparkling white, but the dirt is under control. When she leaves I shake the rug outside and vacuum or broom up the sand dune remaining. I have throws on her favorite furniture locations and a whisk broom and dust pan. If she is bound and determined to get on the furniture before dry, I allow it and then whisk up the dust remaining behind. The throws get washed weekly. |
Tell your roommate if he's worried about that then if you insist on taking out the dog .....buy some booties for him.
Okay, I know I'm the only person on this board who would do it, but I swear at the grooming salon/pet store I am involved with ...all the dogs wear booties after their grooming session (ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL sizes). You should see them walk the first time they have them on. I should definitely turn in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos. hehe It's like they're trying to avoid a flood so each step, they lift their feet up as high as they can. Anyways, I would be PISSED if my roommate did that. You seemed to have handled it a lot better than I would have, but then again, my roomie is not allowed to take out my animals even if they look like they're about to break a door down (they wouldn't but it's his excuse for why he does everything). Due to a similar incident, this is what we resorted to. I told him, do not worry about paying for the broken door, I WILL PAY FOR IT ...just leave my furbabies alone. |
