here's what happened. i stopped using the crate during the day so i have a baby gate and she is in the kitchen/dining room when i'm gone. she's doing great and seems to love it. i put an old tool box in front of where the phone cord comes up the wall because she tried to chew it before. long story longer, one day i came home and i put the gate on top of the tool box so i could say hi to her. she was so excited, her little (big) butt hit the gate and i fell on her. she wasn't hurt, just startled. so, for a few days, she barked at the tool box and would not walk past it unless i was with her. now, she's over it. then, a few days later, she was eating and she kicked her food bowl and now she barks at it and will sneak up to it grab a bite of food very quickly and dart away and eat it. this is how she's been eating for the past few days. i tried holding the food in my hand over the bowl but she does the same thing. i don't want her to be afraid of things, especially her food. what do i do? |

Hi BCF
Couldn't see any other replies to your post, but I notice you posted in November. Have you solved the problem yet?
If not, perhaps you could try feeding her in a different place with a different bowl. If it is usually on the floor perhaps you could elevate it.
I usually solve problems with my dogs by giving them rewards. The rewards are whatever my dogs like the very best. Some call them to die for's. This reward isn't always food. One of mine has favourite toys that are her rewards. They only get their reward when they do what I wanted them to do tho'.
Hope this helps in some way.
