Does anyone know of anything I can give her to help her and us. Thank you, |

Did you recently switch to this food? Or increased the amount she gets at feeding time?
Both of these things will give a dog gas. |
I also have trouble with grain in the feed and it can come on suddenly in a dog, where it hasn't bothered them before. You also want to think about treats - they may be small but they can also be the culprit. |
Hi Abagail Mom! I have heard a very good remedy for any type of dogs with gas is to give them plain yogurt. I have not personally tried it, but the next time my sheepie gets gas, which is usually riding in the car, you can bet I will have some plain yogurt on hand!!

Maggie's Mom Yup! Belle's daughter came to stay with us over New Years (and she's still here! ) and when I complained to my chiro/holistic vet that she was gassing me AND the other dogs out of the house, he suggested a probiotic with digestive enzymes which worked like a charm. When I mentioned it to her breeder (owner) she said, oh, she'd been giving her yogurt - same net effect. I switched her food when she came and that may have helped some too. But if food is the same and you still have this gassiness but nothing else is different, some plain, low fat yogurt could work wonders. Barring that, I suppose a gas mask might work... Kristine |
You can get Charcoal tablets or Charcoal dog biscuits for them, it neuterlises the gas & smell and is safe for them.
My old girl has dreadfull SBD's so the charcoal dog bikkies help a lot. She has a digestive enzyme powder as well, but love the charcoal dog bikkes kills the amount and the smell, especially when she can let go of those dreadfull SBD's (Silent but deadly ) Made a difference to the oldie lethal stink gas bomb |
I've had very bad luck with any food containing soy for my sheepies.....and some are very corn sensitive. Maybe the formula for the food recently changed.
I second the Yogurt, probiotics and charcoal. All my guys get yogurt daily and probiotics as necessary. Charcoal as a last resort. |
