I'm almost 3 months and we got to hear the heart beat today at my appointment. The doctor said it's a girl because it was beating so fast. We'll see! That said I've been glued to Mrs. J's post about having lil J. I must say she is scaring me to death with all the uncomfortableness. I'm not sure I'm that brave. |

My mother used to tell the story about my birth this way: (As background, I was 1 month preemie. She had 2 kids and then an unsuccessful pregnancy before me, and she was very nervous that she was delivering too early.) While she was in labor and waiting to go to the delivery room, she started to get up off the bed saying: "I don't want to do this. I'm going home." and the nurse replied: "Honey, there's no changing your mind now." I was fine. I spent 1 day in the preemie ward and at exactly 6 pounds looked like a giant among the rest of my cohort. Apparently I also really freaked out all the nurses as I followed them around the room with my eyes. To this day, Joan shakes her head softly when I follow nurses around with my eyes. Honey, there's no changing your mind now. |
CONGRATULATIONS, JODIE!!!! |
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (another future sheepie owner in the making!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) |
Congrats!!!! Another baby, woo woo! We need a "Stork Watch" blog! |
Oh Jodie! Congrats!!!!! I fell like I'm a grandma many times over!!!! You will have to keep us up to date on all the developements!! Big hugs to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy for you. What a wonderful feeling that warms the heart!!! Just wait until you see their face. Then you'll want a football team of kids. hehehe ...or not, but it is a great feeling.
Glad to hear baby bean is doing well. No matter what I say, remember you'll make it through, heal, and probably be willing to do it again for another one. Other than that, as I tell others on this board.... there is NO EXAGGERATION to how bad labor is. The 1st pregnancy... you fear the unknown. The 2nd ...you know what's coming, and THAT is scary. |
AWWWW another mommy to be, CONGRATULATIONS
Belly pics as you bloom |
Congrats and good luck!!
You know the drill......pictures, pictures, pictures! |
And another mommie....CONGRATS!
It must be some kind of mystery radiation from looking on the forum. At any rate, if I find I'm pregnant, I will run outside and look for a star. |
congrats!!! |
Congrats Jodie!! |
Oh wow..you brought back some tear jerk moments for me...I had forgotten how wonderous it is when you get to hear the heart beat. It's amazing!
Congrats and I can't wait to read upcoming stories of your journey. Marianne |

Congratulations, HOW EXCITING!!!
As an expectant GRANDMOTHER , I too am following all the baby threads with excitement. So HERE's MY B'day story (I gotta beat Ron). I'm a twin born back in the DARK AGES (before ultrasound). My Mom had no idea that she was having twins. My brother was born first, healthy 7 lb boy. Excitement all around. A short while later they told her to push for the afterbirth AND I POPPED OUT , 3lbs of "afterbirth" that almost ended up in a bucket on the floor. |
Congratulations!!!!!
Don't be too scared. Being pregnant is one of the most wonderful things you can ever experience. |
CONGRATS!! Welcome to the club! There's a bunch of us here!
That's awesome you got to hear the heartbeat. It's amazing. And it stays amazing each time you hear it. I heard ours again today and it just blows me away! |
Thanks everyone for all the kind words. Now if only i could get this bagel down as I sit here and read. I'm really looking forward to getting past this phase so I can enjoy things a little more.
Tasker's Mom, I'm glad they decided to keep you and not just put you in a bucket with the afterbirth. Mrs. J you have to stay strong and show all of us newbies how it's done! |
Just wait--I'm sure in a few days you'll wake up fine and any nausea will be gone. It's like a lightswitch, at least it was with me. It was like I woke up and thought, something's different, what's missing? Oh yeah, I don't feel like puking! |
Yep, that was me too. One day, it was just gone.....
Ginny, glad they caught you! My twins were undiagnosed also - although they did find out as I went into preterm labor - so I knew for a whole week before the girls were born. Of course that week involved an ambulance ride to the Uof M Hospital and a week stay there... so I really wasn't too relaxed or able to take a lot in. |
Congratulations!! What an exciting time for you & hubby. |
Ah, it must have been amazing to listen to your baby's heartbeat! Congratulations!

ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!! |
Congratulations, Jodie! :yay: What wonderful news!!
I loved every minute of being pregnant. Never had one minute of morning sickness. Used to just love feeling them moving around in me. Always said that once they were born, they belonged to the world, but while they were in me, they were only mine! Enjoy this wonderful time! |
Congrats!!! Apparently there is something in the water around here!!!! How many of us are pregnant on here?
