Mandeville's "OES"

Does anyone own the book, The Complete Old English Sheepdog by John Mandeville-( from the '70's)? Are the grooming methods for the most part still current?

Basic grooming is pretty much the same. The "style" is a lot different for trimming and showing.
Have you come across any good reading that might be helpful. It's hard to find anything beyond line grooming. Show coat presentation is a good topic for anyone wanting to have a best seller.
Your best bet is to observe at a show. There are regional differences in grooming techniques/styles across the US, as well as differences in other countries.

There are a few pictures and descriptions of show prep in one of my books - "The Complete Old English Sheepdog" by Christina Smith. Compared with what is really involved, it is pretty minimalistic. No grooming secrets given away there!
There's that one hard-to-find Australian book, too. Somebody remind me the name of it. Lisa sent me an excerpt and I know Nita has it...
The book they're recommending is in this thread, but it's out of print and hard to find.

Thanks Tammy. If you all are referring to Monique Carrier's book, I got it on ebay and am waiting for its arrival.
If you all are referring to Melissa Verplank's book let me know. I should be able to find it somehow. I went to our local show and there was only one OES showing and he did all the grooming in his RV/Mobile Home. I think when they show in my neck of the woods they plan that it will be very hot and do almost all grooming before entering the ring.

Wonderful so hard to get, lets know what you think of it when it arrives and you have a read of the grooming and show trimming section.

Jill it was published in Canada.
I am sooo glad to have this book. Thanks y'all for recommending it. It is definately for a novice but that is what I am. I especially liked the "tips for gooming" section and the "scissoring" section. She goes beyond line grooming, is very meticulous, the ink drawings are very helpful, and I learned much from the "showing your OES" section. I would recommend this to new parents and there might be something new to try for the accomplished groomers.
