Both OES will be altered prior to placement. The male was born in February of 2002 and the female was born in August of 2002. Both dogs have been kenneled in less than desirable conditions for most of their lives. We are trying to find out more about their temperaments and overall health and waiting for photos of the pair. As soon as we get photos, they will be listed on our Petfinder site. We are working with an all-breed rescue group in southern Michigan to place these OES. If you are interested in either fostering or adopting either of these two dogs, please PM me or e-mail to the address below. Thanks! Nita Indiana-Midwest OES Rescue indyoes@mac.com |

Just an update, these two dogs were whisked away from their life as breeding stock on Saturday!
They are now with a very special OESRNSE volunteer. Thanks to Ingrid and Jim and the people with Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan for helping us get these two to safety! This couldn't have been done without everyone's cooperation.:banana: Nita Indiana-Midwest OES Rescue |

that is great |
Thank You Nita, for helping us help them, helping each other!!!
Although, I do not own an OESD, I have become very fond of them, do to a very special girl named Sassy. Almost a year ago, Sassy was on death row ready to be sent to a gas chamber at our rural AC. I could not believe it when I heard the director of this shelter say "who would want her? she is old" So, my life has taken a very dramatic turn since that moment. I called on the president of the Doberman rescue I am with, asked if she knew of an OESD rescue... long story short, Sassy was saved by NITA & NWOESD. The quest continues for any and all adoptable animals, canines and felines that end up at at this rural AC with a gas chamber. Refurished Pets of Southern Michigan is so thankful for everyone pulling together, getting these two to saftey and stopping the madness of backyard breeding. Hope they are okay and can finally have a forever home that will love them for pets, and not $$. PLEASE keep us posted, this is what helps us help them too. Oops, I think I got the intials wrong .. Not NWOESD, ....IMWOESD, Ah, too many letters.. and just because I can confuse myself, and my typing skills stink. these two came from a breeder that called our rescue and were not at theAC with the gas chamber .... blah.
As a good laugh I would like to say .. Doberman is one word and much easier for me. Ha |
Ahhh! Yay!
A special appearance by the infamous Cathy Gray! Thanks so much for all your hard work, woman! And for seeing Sassy as the "diamond in the ruff" a senior gal can be. Sassy was blessed to have you watching over her and and getting her safely to Nita. Thank you to Cathy, Nita, Ingrid, Jim and ALL for all your hard work on this new OES pair. With great admiration and respect, Humble admirer to you all, Nancy MN OES Rescue |

Besides getting these dogs out of a bad situation, the next best thing is the cooperation between other rescues. All too often it boils down to politics (yes, rescue can be political ) In this case, getting these dogs to safety was the priority. Nobody involved cared about the hype and kudos, just getting the job done.
I'm very grateful to everyone out there who volunteer their time and efforts to give dogs like these a chance for a fabulous life. They are definitely worth it! Nita |
