Bad Day at Work

Hello everyone. I had a horrible afternoon at work, hope you don't mind if I vent. I work for a small business, 2 girl office, me and another. This past Monday, they hired a third as a Office Manager. The other girl, whom I have worked with for the past 6 months, quit today, mainly because of the new Office Manager. I cryed all the way home and on my hubbys shoulder, and even called my daughter who is away in California. We had grown to be friends and I'll miss her there. I know things would have worked out if she had given the newbie more time.     Thanks for listening.

Vent away. I'm sorry you had such a horrible day. Hopefully the new lady will end up being someone you can like and respect and hopefully you'll be able to keep in contact with your friend too.
Sorry for the change and the loss of a friend. I hope things work out well with this new person.

:ghug:
im sorry to hear that you had such a rotten day. hopefully you will remain in contact with your old coworker and make a new friend in the new coworker!
Sorry to hear of the work situation. I know how difficult it is to lose a good trusted coworker. Look on the brighter side, you had a pleasant work environment for a long period of time :D
Thanks everyone for your support. I'm still alittle weepy today, but need to stop by Monday am. I don't want the guys seeing me like this. Thanks again.
:ghug:

Wish I lived closer as you could borrow my shoulder anytime and I would have showed up at your door with some chocolate, and maybe some ice cream.

Hope your week goes better!

Hoping you will find that you like the new worker :)
It's sad that she's gone but this new girl might be nice too. Give her a chance...you can always cry on our shoulders. :ghug:
Just a short update. The new office manage is a nice older lady, but doesn't seem to know much. She has accounting experience, but doesn't know Quickbooks, which we use. I don't know enough to take over the position my friend left, so she is trying her hand at it. OMG, no billing this month I guess. I did tell the owner about the situation *her not knowing*, he was unaware, thought she knew everything.................
Maybe you could offer to take a course in the Quick Books program?? That program is VERY user friendly and once it is explained to you, it's a piece of cake! YOU could DO it!!! Think about it!!!!
This looks like one of those opportunities for things to change for the better- unexpectedly! Perhaps you could do a course & take the role yourself? I feel sure that in a few weeks things will change & you will find yourself on a new exciting path. Stay positive, it's just a transition :ghug:
To update on this thread. The "new" office manager turned bookkeeper has been fired and replaced. Thats the 4th new girl in that position.
Perhpas you should suggest that they should promote you into the position, instead of hiring people in that obviously don't work out.
