I consider it a low nutritional food. that said, my trainer a retired vet feeds it, my husband feeds his Irish Setter Purina One, and one of my dogs came from a breeder that fed it. Most breeders don't recommend it though and I feed mine higher quality foods.
Hi I see you are from Uk. what does the breeder recommend you feed the pup?
pedigree pupy food ( tinned ) and pedigree puppy biscuits whats the best food avalible in the uk
In the UK you have plenty of excellent dog foods, we feed our sheepies on Eukanuba and we are pleased with the results.
The tinned food does give them runny poops, you need a good growth kibble not ones from the Supermarket. The kibble also helps their teeth and something for them to crunch on.

You need to go to a pet store and look for a high quality growth kibble for large breeds.

Royal Canin is sold in the UK
Pro Plan is another
As well as the one Dairymaid recommended

You pay more as better quality ingredients for a growing OES needs. You will find also the stools will be firmer, the tin stuff makes them loose and it is not good quality for growing pups needs.

You can add to the Kibble, Fresh meat, cooked chicken (no skin, no bones), fish, rice, pasta, veggies like pumpkin, carrot, brocoli, beans, peas for variety but when introducing something new into the kibble just do it slowly, start with one thing at a time, before introducing a new thing so not to cause tummy upsets.

The main part of their diet should be the Kibble as it has all init for their growing needs.
thank you i will be off to the pet store today to see what i can find thanks again for the info
 pro plan is not recommended by most experts here....dunno why
When you go to a pet store try and pick one where the can give you good advice, and secondly don't get a 15 kg sack of food, (it does not matter what brand) forced upon you just in case the sheepie does not eat it, take the smallest bag first, believe me it is worth the effort to go back and get a bigger gag later rather than having to throw the most of the food away should they not like it. Lisa has given you some very valuable advice, I would like to add my sheepies love all kinds of veg, fruit and especially raw meat.
There used to be a food in the UK called James Wellbeloved it is also worth trying :D
