Ginny, with this collar on, can he still get to his front feet to bite? |
Hmmm, I don't know. The concept is they can't bend their neck to get at anything to chew............ Tasker is always gnawing on his back hops and feet and I know he doesn't reach them with the collar but I don't know about the front. Theoretically I think the answer is they can't. |
ha ha ha--the picture of the cat in the advert cracked me up...
I don't know if this would work since Barn's biggest chew areas are his front paws, which looks like he could still reach. Although it'd be nice to not have him crashing throughout the house--I remember his cone days too well from his neuter surgery! |
I was sure hoping to find an affirmative answer to this question, with the name of the perfect spray.
As some may know, Druby had severe dermatitus on his scrotum. At first the vet thought he had brucellosis which is just a bit better than a death sentence. Tests, thankfully, proved that wasn't the proper diagnosis. He was neutered on Dec. 31st with extra skin removed to get rid of the affected area with dermatitus. He was supposed to wear a cone for a week, and get his stitches out on Dec. 10th. I have left the cone on because he goes back to licking big time as soon as it was removed. He has learned that with enough "power" the cone gives and it doesn't restrict where he can go that much. Thankfully it doesn't seem he is messing up door facings or furniture, etc. when he powers through. I was especially concerned that he would mess up our leather furniture. LOL I never found out if the licking caused the dermatitus or if he licked because he had dermatitus. Maybe I will find out when I take him in to get the stitches out. I'm hoping he wants to just lick now because his surgery area is healing and the hair is growing back where it was shaved. He can't do without any more parts, if he gets dermatitus again. : ) |
Perhaps this article can help?
It shows the bite-not collar near the bottom in use on my dog: Using the bite-not collar |
I just looked at the website again. It says in the description that
"Stops small and medium dogs from licking their feet (Dobermans and German Shepherds are difficult to stop). " Foz's primary licking area is his front paws so this may not help him either. Poor guy |
Well, I came home tonight and put the NO-Bite on Tasker. He gave t\me the funniest look. As if to say MOM I'M NOT CHEWING WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS.
After watching him for awhile I'd have to say that he'd have to be pretty determined to get at his front feet but he MIGHT be able to . The back feet I'm pretty sure he couldn't. |
Tell Tasker thanks for being a guinea pig!
Barney I think would be determined enough to find a way to lick his front paws... |

Barney I think would be determined enough to find a way to lick his front paws... Not sure if Fozzie will thank him, but please tell Tasker that was very nice of him. Maybe I'll try this. |
