We were finally able to get ahold of my friend late last night, how do you tell someone who is hundreds of miles away her 4 legged son of 12 years might die? On one hand, I know the vet will do everything he can for Brutus, hopefully he'll make it. On the other, I don't want the last part of his life in pain suffering. He was fine before the surgery, running around the farm like a goof ball, enjoying life. I just hope he can make it. I've grown attached to him. It's odd, how things can change in just a matter of hours. Anyone delt with prostate cancer in a dog before? |

I am so sorry for everyone, you, your friend and Brutus.
May I ask you how did you find the strength and the words to tell your friend? |
Ok, I wimped out. My boyfriend told her!! I couldn't do it with out crying!! She's doing ok with the news, just worried that he might be suffering. The vet promised us that in no way was Brutus at this point suffering. Accept the obvious pain from recovery of surgery. I talked to the vet this morning, Brutus is doing good. He's up, and moving around a little. He had a fever but seems to be going down. We are going to visit him tonight for moral support and treats! |
