| My mother-in-law had the same problem last year. She wound up having to have her old color stripped out if I remember correctly, but I'm not sure. Good luck! |
| try washing your hair with 1/2 cup of apple vinegar and 1/2 cup of warm water to remove any hair product build up then try dying again. also most hair dyes that are ammonia free tend to not change hair color drastically even though it's permanent dye. |
| did you have a color in your hair already? And what color were you trying to get? If you have a color in your hair and you put in a lighter color, it will do nothing but color your roots. Color does not lift color. think of a brown crayon on paper then you color over with yellow, nothing. I have over 20 yrs exp, could help need more info. If hair needs stripping, I find that when the hair is wet if feels as if there is lots of hair spray in it and kindy feels matty. (stripping needed)If over colored (with lighter colors) it feels very slimy when wet and feels like noodles(not really can be done) |
| As for surgery, not to sure about colors but I know perms do not take.... usually have to wait 3 months. |
| I have bleached blonde hair for over 25 yrs. I use Wella in the 3ng or around that. I wanted to go darker so I bought 12ng and 12n. It took last time. But nothing this time. Do I need to bleach first again? THANKS |
What color was the 3 ng is that level 3 dark brown? ng= natural gold. Just making sure I understand. And the 12 n is that lightest blonde natural. That is how my colors are set up. 1 darkest 12 lightest. Now if you are blonde (bleach now) the 12 will only tone very little color, BUT have to be VERY careful if ash base could give green or purple hue. I have bleached people and when still very yellow I tone with 12 that has a purple base and only put on were yellow if it is lighter (no yellow) it will go purple.Now if your hair is at the 12 level and you are after the roots to match if you are natural darker (light brown or darker) you will not be able to match it colors only lift so many levels and stops and can be reddy,so if thats what you are after you bleach the roots ONLY and tone with 12 after again roots only, if you want to pull it through (mostly long hair) wet the ends before you comb it through you can also add shampoo to extra color, you do not need the formula full strenght on hair already colored you are just refreshing it. This is hard to explain without seeing hair and is one of the more diffcult color to do. Now I hope it makes sense  But I do stress ROOTS ONLY. MY neice was bleaching her hair on her own and was pulling it through her whole head, I gave her a hair cut 2 weeks ago and no kidding she lost about 6" of hair in 2 months.

| Darcy I think your HAIR looks great, your goofy face cute. I have a client that was going through what you have... for years she was trying to grow her hair cut grow cut etc... Well after she lost her hair and of course came back wavey and we cut to short and sassy and it is perfect. I would never have thought to go that short on her or that she would have let me. But for 6o she is cute as a button. |
