You need to break the cycle in as many ways as possible. Here is a page I've written about it. It's not the Gospel, but it make a lot of sense.
How to get rid of fleas from your dogs and your house |
Thanks for your help. will print it. |
My experience with flea control products is that you need to switch brands every year. We rotate throught he three major brands, every spring I change to a different one.
There may be no basis in fact for it but it seems taht if I use the same one too long the fleas become immune to it. I also use an herbal spray on the carpets once a week. A couple years ago I had a terrible time with fleas and eventually discovered that the dogs were getting re-infested IN THE CAR. I would bomb the house clean the dogs and think all was under cotrol then suddenly we would be infested again. It wasn't til I bombed the car too that I was able to break the cycle. |
We went to the vet - all my dogs had worms. Vet recommended staying on the frontline for the OES and the frontline spray for the shih tzu and sheltie. of course also stay on the heartguard. The fleas and worms are gone. YEAH
Good thought to treat the car too! |
