my moms dogs have done this, if it is not yeast and just a bad habit. Try tea tree oil taste awful and if itchy it takes the itch out. |

Distract him. If you know it's just a habit you can distract him every time he starts to lick his paws or anything that he licks for too long. Tell him "Stop" or "Enough" and reward him for paying attention to you. |

Wished this worked. He has cut down on it in the house beacuse of doing exactly what you suggest, now he heads out to the deck to lick his paws where he isn't caught as easily. Guess it is just part of his quirly personality that we love. Thanks for the suggestions though! |
Have you tried putting a leash on him and "attach" him to yourself? That way you can control him all the time and correct him when needed without him running off.
Every time he runs off and licks his paws, you will fall 3 steps back on the "paw licking" training. Good luck with him! |
