Nobody hated them when they were the NFL's doormat. Nobody hated them when they won their first in 2001. Brady is a likable guy and really humble, especially compared to other top notch QBs. You probably don't know many of the other players, except Moss and he's been a gentleman (this year). Belichick never says anything improper. Kraft is, well he's a bit much, but hey, he's rich and his team is winning. Is it all the "team" liturgy? |
Well...... 
when you have a favorite team who was also doing well but not better ...you naturally will be a bit upset and jealous. It's not football if everyone is friendly and happy about victories even if they did do a good job. 
Like last night my husband spent the entire evening calling a friend back and forth as they left messages and text messages on each other's cell phone dogging out each other's team (who were playing one another). ...even if one of the two teams had no chance (to most viewing). |

Belichick is the most hated guy in football.... I'm guessing it might have a little to do wtih videotaping opponents and running up the score 
I also think that some people think Randy Moss acted like a baby with the Raiders, and that Tom Brady is an arrogant pretty boy (come on would someone with that much humility do all those GQ covers?) |

| The "running up the score" thing is simply ridiculous, as is the videotaping stuff. All teams had done it in prior years until the league passed a rule, and the only reason the league was involved in this was because Eric Mangini's illegally videotaping cameraman had been kicked out of Gillette Stadium by Belichick the previous time they played. Both issues were being blown out of proportion by the media.
You can't be a superstar and be on the cover of GQ and be somewhat humble? It makes you arrogant? Where? When? Really, I'm a fan of some of Brady's on-the-field accomplishments (no, I don't think he's as good as some other QBs) but I'm not any kind of a fan boy. I just don't see what you're talking about. I really think this is all about the envy that comes along with being on top for so long, just like everyone (other than Yankees fans) hates the Yankees. I find it fascinating ... maybe I'll re-examine my own hatred of the evil pin-stripers now. |
| OK, here's why I'm rooting for the Pats to go all the way this year.
Normally, I'd be happy for them to win the SuperBowl, but you know, I've been there, done that. I'm just as happy for other teams to win it now, especially if there's a good story involved, like Bret Favre. Because the Pats had an unbelievable regular season, and because many (including me!) feel that it won't be remembered as the spectacular achievement it was unless they win it all, I have to root for the Pats. They ARE the "good story" this year! So... Go Pats! Win it all!  |
