Picked up new puppy 48 hours ago

I just picked up our new female pup, Casey, Friday evening. Arrived at the Northwest Airlines cargo building just as she was dropped off. The poor thing had been in transit for about 6 hours and was covered with pee. For some reason her flight went form Kansas City to Detroit and then to O'Hare. Even in that state she was the center of attention at the pick-up counter. They were fawning all over her and she was as calm as can be! She wasn't happy getting back into her carrier for the 25 minute ride home but settled down after about 10 minutes. I brought her right to her run in the back yard and she went pee right away. Then took her in and gave her a bath in the kitchen sink. She wasn't thrilled but tolerated it incredibly well. She even fell asleep while I was blow drying her! She took to her crate right away and later she ate like she was going to the chair. She has had 2 really good nights going 1 to 3 hours between having to go out with very little complaining after being put back in. She has been great with me, my wife and our 2 children. Took her to the vet less than 24 hours after we got her and she checked out great. Just a little under weight as I suspected the first time I picked her up. She is the runt of a litter of 16 (14 survivers) and was having trouble asserting herself so she was being supplimented by the breeder. She'll be up to her propper wieght in no time. Transitioning her from the Eukanuba Puppy Lamb and Rice that the breeder was feeding her to Canidae all stages. So far she is proving to be one fantastic little, adaptable, laid-back puppy. I'm having trouble downloading pics from my camera to my PC but as soon as I can I'll post pictures.

Aww, congratulations! Ummm, I wouldn't count on the calm stage for too long! LOL I posted on here when I fist got Mopsey, saying "What's wrong with my puppy? She is sooo calm and layed back!" Well, everyone said, just wait. She became a monster she is supposed to be three-four days later! He he he! Enjoy her and keep us posted! Its a fun time when they are so little and adorable!!! And yes, pictures would be wonderful! LOL

Yeah, same with Pooh----he was calm for about the first week then starting to come out of his shell....he likes to torment the cat now...pulls on the leash when he sees a squirrel, and jumps on my wife, but other than that, great dog, amazing temperment.

my mickey doodles is now just about 7months old,and oh yes i remember posting here saying how "calm" he was.LMAO!!!

his 1st tubby was so nice for the both of us,and he was going to be a calm pupper,and all these other OES owners had bad seeds!!LMAO!

then came the day he was ready to show me what a 9week old OES really was about!!LOL!!hed pee in the house AFTER peeing outside,hed run around like he was on fire!! he would come up to me and nip my knees!!! bath time was so funny!!!!and lets not talk about blow drying him!!that got even funnier!!

ok now i got that out of the way,like i said mickey has grown up some<<<notice i said some and not ALOT.hehe!!he is my joy,and my true buddy he and i click like best friends.BUT he is VERY high energy(i actually like that tho w/ having a 8yr old girl who is high energy)and he is VERY demanding he wants attention when he wants ATTENTION! being 7months old he is ooooh about 60lbs now so he is a BIG boy.

now the positive,you hang in there your OES is going to take you on a ride of your life and what fun it is.my mickey is a clown,a true lover<<hehe!!w/ his huge KISSES!!he is a teaser(he loves to piss off my collie cuz mickey can run faster than my jagger!!LOL!!)mickey is so very loyal,he has NEVER ran off or even wanted to,he stays right by my side or when he is out w/ my daughter he NEVER leaves her side.

im kind of jealous that you have a little puppy,but like everyone said enjoy it cuz they get BIG fast!!LOL!!

AWWWW she's the sweetest thing (They tug at your heartstrings on purpose you know) ....as boy can they be mischievious when older..but too late by then you're hooked!!!
