We have been told if they bite or nip you stop what you are doing and leave the pup, remove the toy and just go. they have to learn that if they bite or nip the game ends, and under no circumstances are they to do it. If Summer does it I get off the floor take the toy away and ignore her. She soon got the message. |
For the nipping part give him toys to chew on instead of you. For the digging part in crate ignore him it might be a way he could learn to get attention again give him toys to keep him occupied. |
ps the potty training, Summer was weeing about every 30 minutes for weeks and weeks and weeks. Then all of a sudden we realised she was getting longer between wees. She still needs reminding to go out when she has been asleep, or playing, but you just got to keep taking them. She now stands by the back door and looks confused when she needs a wee! |

Your little man is also Teething, so the nipping is at the Max at the moment. Re-direct that to good safe chew toys and even a big marrow bone to help at this stage. If he gets your hand then time out in the crate with a good chew thing to help sink his teeth into and help at this stage.\
Doing a screech when they get your hand is like letting them know it hurts, like seeing a litter together, when one gets too rough with another they screech to let them know a big NO NO. Digging in the crate, just making his nest comfortable, mine are older but watching them lay down, a million turns, scrunching the bedding before plonking themselves down for the night. Potty training just be consistent there and eventually they click. Last potty for the night when the last one in the house is ready for bed get them to take him out for a last potty, then who-ever is up first in the morning, I use to get up at about 6.00 take pupper out for a pee then we all went back to bed for awhile longer. Hubby use to do the last potty at night, usually around 11-11.30 before he went to bed. Good routines and sticking to that they learn fast. |
