Good news! And Good luck to Druby on Monday! |
Excellent news!
Dermatitis - just an irritation of the skin, right? Could be an allergy or inflammation from contact with the carpet, grass, etc. I think dermatitis is a broad term that encompasses a lot of different issues. |
Phew
Yeah, dermatitis.........."derma"..from skin, "titis" is inflammation.........they probably should have put "idio" in front meaning who knows, LOL! |
Yeah that's good news regarding Druby!
Admittedly, I hadn't heard of Brucellosis until I read your post and tried to find info about it via the net. You're right not much info on there and what it does have is a bit confusing. Nonetheless, it does seem that NOT having it is a good thing and Dermatitis while annoying is something that can be cured easily enough. Hard to apply cream to the area, as no doubt Druby is probably licking but some benadryl should help him if the area becomes itchy. Again best wishes to Druby and Blue, Merlin and Panda are sending him some sloppy sheepie kisses. Marianne |
Good news for you!
I can't remember if I replied in your initial post, but our Ollie had sores from licking too. We never did figure out if the licking or some other cause started it all. After a few flareups and ABX treatments, we had him neutered. He never had any problems with sores or licking (anywhere) after that. |
Don't know if we will ever know what caused his dermatitus. I wish we could have gotten him in sooner for his neutering. He had seemed to have gotten better until today. He is totally pink on his scrotum. Guess he is getting in some good licks before there will be nothing to lick on. LOL
For thost that have had their dog neutered, what is the going rate? We are looking at $125+ (It will be extra to remove more skin than normal to get it where the area with dermatitus is gone.) |
