Minnesota OES Rescue is assisting with a found OES too-
http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/dis ... id=9922509 |
Thanks for the reminder to all of us to be vary careful with any type classified ad, Ron. Many people have been lured into dangerous situations this way under the pretenses of buying, rescuing or recovering a pet.
I do know that this is a legitimate ad because we were contacted via phone by the person who found this dog. They've placed ads everywhere trying to find the owner. Nancy with the Minnesota OES Rescue now has all the details so if you are the person who lost this dog or knows who the owner is, please contact her at nancyhakala@aol.com. |
This probably doesn't need to be asked
but has the dog been scanned for a chip? |
Just wanted to let you know the FOUND dog has a full tummy, a warm doggy bed, and a stocking hanging from the mantel - just in case the dog isn't reunited with it's family before Christmas ... while hoping that "Santa Paws" helps us find it's family or at least knows that someone is looking out for this dog.
The family who found the dog brought it to their vet's office on the 21st and the dog does NOT have a micro-chip. Animal Control officers, vet's offices, etc. have been contacted. "Found OES Dog" posters have been hung and ads have been placed on-line and in newspapers. *If anyone has any suggestions on anything else we should be doing, please let us know. WE have to be very careful that not just anyone off the street claims that this is their long, lost pet. The family who saved it from traffic is asking for very specific information before handing it over to just anyone, and I am complete agreement with them. Thus far there haven't been ANY responses to ads, no "lost dog" fliers or ads ... and no calls to animal control facilities or shelters with reports of a "lost OES". How can someone not be looking for their dog? It IS the holiday season, so there could be many scenarios ... too many to list. I'm hoping that it truly is a "lost dog" and not a "dumped dog". I'm reeeally thankful the dog was found when it was as we're in the middle of snow and ice here in the TC's and surrounding areas this past couple days ... I'm not going to get into too many details over the Internet at this time, but the dog isn't what any of us would consider "good shape" for an OES at this time. If you have any extra prayers or good thoughts to spare, please share with this dog. It could really use them. Thanks. |
That poor thing . I hope it wasn't dumped, you have to be a special kind of evil to do that . Would the family who rescued the dog be willing to adopt? |

The family that found the dog doesn't have it in their home anymore. They had relatives coming into town, and a frail mother they were concerned about getting hurt by a strange dog. (can't blame them for being cautious) It is now in the care of MN OES Rescue. ** We are still very hopeful that the dog can be reunited with it's family ... and can't even think of placing until all search options have been exhausted. ** So, please, if you hear of anyone missing their OES ... please let me know. Thanks! |
Dog was reunited with it's family at approximately 1:30 PM |
That is good news!!
I hope all goes well now that they have their dog back. |
Oh Nancy!
That's wonderful Great job to everyone involved. |
I love a happy ending. Merry Christmas to the returned dog and its family. |

YAY!!! They must have been so happy to have their dog back for Christmas!
How long had the dog been missing? What about the concerns that the dog was not in good shape? |
Tell us the story! |
