Getting too exited .. :)

kk I have a slight problem. The OES is 6 months old, he usually stay in the garage with our other dog, but oocasionaly when I let him in the house he gets WAY to excited and goes nuts. It's nice to see him be so happy but it can get a little destructive at times :) any advice?

OES need and thrive on the attention of their people. The garage isn't a suitable place to keep a dog, especially a puppy.

Bring him in the house where he's near people, crate train him so he neither destroys your house or gets into trouble.

A six month old requires lots of exercise to prevent destructive behavior. Plenty of chew toys will keep him from teething on things he shouldn't be chewing.

Once he gets accustomed to being in the house around everyone, he will settle down.

Heart is 6 months old and is always with us...even when I go take a bath   --she just comes in and curls up...the other dogs lay in the hallway, not enuff room in the bathroom....
This is just one breed that needs to have human interaction. I've only met one sheepie that was aloof and uninterested in people and I wondered what was wrong with him.

They need more time in the house with strict supervision so they can learn proper house manners. Have both dogs been through obedience training? It can be a fun and beneficial endeavor.
The best advise that I can give is to listen to the members of this forum about sheepies. One of the things that we have done when Bella gets crazy is put her on a long leash in the house. This lets her explore her environment, play calmly with her people and most important remind her that she is under our control and rules. It has really worked for her now we only use it when she has gotten herself so wound up that she can't calm down. And that is becoming more rare, she is only one year old. Sheepies are velcro dogs they need to be attached to their people.

So true that is a good exclamation for it; velcro. I really noticed last night. I have an open concept place. Usually I am in the living area but last couple nights I have been painting pictures for xmas in the sun room Guess where the muppet was the whole time; under the table at my feet. If I am in the living room most times you will see us spooning on the couch. I love it my big cuddle bug. Enjoy that part of your dog it is endearing.
Archie is only part oes but he has that velcro characteristic and I love it , my other dogs are much less demanding for time almost attached to me and I love the way Archie is like my shadow :D

Try to imagine yourself locked up in a room where you can't do much - you would want to be with people instead so when they let you be with them, how would you behave? I don't think you would stay calm and relaxed. ;)

Before you let him in the house, take him for a walk and play with him. A tired puppy is a good puppy!
Just an update... been slowly getting him accustomed to the house. We are installing new flooring in our living room so he isn't aloud in there (yet :) ). He just hangs out around the kitchen and stuff. He doesn't counter surf unless no-one is in the house which still needs to be taken care of. Big baby is crying right now at 5:45 am so I'm gonna take him for a walk. I love these forums thanks for everything.
