The food is definitely the first thing I would consider. When Tucker was a pup he was on Purina Chow (that's what the breeder was feeding him) and he had a lot of poops and had to go out immediately after eating. We changed him to the "Foundations" brand which was really good, and he is now on "Go!" which I love.
Another thing that affected him was, believe it or not, the dirt in our yard! He loves to dig and would eat some of the dirt, and we noticed that even though he continued that behaviour at other people's houses, he didn't have the runs when we were away for a few days. Then as soon as we were home, it was back to that again. The vet kept saying it was the heat, which I knew was crap because it started before it was hot. We moved, however, and ever since we left that old house the only time he ever has trouble is if we feed him too many unhealthy treats (milk bones etc...he is used to a healthier diet and not a lot of filler). |
Firstly is her worming up to date? If not then worm her.
You have gone from Turkey to rice then over to lamb & rice. Both good but at her age and being only so young you could of upset the system a bit by changing flavours. When transitioning to a new flavour, spend quite a few days of mixing say 3/4 old to 1/4 new then if all is OK in the poopie department increase that to half an half then 3/4 new flavour to 1/4 old flavour till after about 3-5 days they are on the new flavour completely. Changing at that age straight over to another does cause dietry upsets as they have delicate little systems. |
