Wow, think if the big pot of soup you could make in it as well! Electric is slower to make big temperature change; however, it does a very good job at keeping liquids at a certain range....I'm assuming you get a thermostat.....I don't think the propane ones have the thermostat...that alone might make it. Propane device seemed so one purpose which I no longer have room for in my house.......items need dual purpose to make it through the door. So electric allows you to make soup, chile, stews, boil water for a lot of pasta or to do your laundry. |
I would not buy one of those turkey makers. We have a friend who works for Underwriters Lab. and he said they have tested those turkey fryers and they explode like fireworks. He said they are very dangerous.
If you go on the UL internet site they show photos of the testing of these fryers and also safety tips on how to use them. Mary |
Personally, I would never fry a Turkey in the house.
I'm sure the electric is safer than the propane using ones... The problem is getting the Turkey into the hot oil. If you do it too fast ,you'll end up with hot oil EVERYWHERE! |
It is quite an undertaking. My son (loves cooking gadgets) bought one.
He set in up in my driveway. No one got burned, but I think they are dangerous. He has only used it twice. It now joins the bread machine & all the other kitchen gadgets in the storage closet. |
