WELCOME HOME MR. J.........................HAPPY HOLIDAYS................. |
He's at work right now, but I know he will appreciate the thread. He just loves everything about this "family." Not to mention, he can't get enough of going through the photo albums on here.
I didn't post pics b/c they really didn't turn out well nor were they as good as his last deployment. Everything happened so fast, and there were 300+ families waiting for their families, so it was more about just finding your soldier and leaving! banner over garage: more banners: lil J's shirt. Back had company name on it: JUST start walking into the gym. Everyone is screaming like crazy and you always heard when someone found their soldiers. ....followed by a kid screaming "DADDY, It's me Madeline... do you remember?!" Here daddy. This is the flag I didn't let go of for 2 hrs waiting for you. |
<cry> <sniff>
Seriously. I can't tell you how much it makes me ache to think of the soldiers and their families being separated. So thank you, Mr. J. Thanks is not enough, but it is all I can give. Thank you. And, Thank you Mrs. J and baby J for being there for him. |
And Yuki wearing daddy's hat. I've NEVER met a dog so attached to his owner. Even after 15 months, Mr. J is his favorite person. She whines all day and stays at the door when he started going back to work, and she can't sleep at night unless she's touching him. ...........literally, which makes it fun when I want to to touch him. The first night together, she insisted on sleeping in-between us no matter how hot it got.
Both lil J and Mr. J sick. Quote: Will you still get the cards we mailed to you?
They were only mailed to our address here in AK, and we've only gotten a few so far, so he should be here when they all start arriving. |
this brought tears to my eyes. A big Thank You to all the soldiers and their families for keeping us safe! |
Awwww.... that's awesome, welcome home!
Cute pics too |
Those are great pictures of you all. I bet the welcome back gathering was so emotional for everyone - it brought tears to my eyes.
I hope the guys are getting better - and that you don't get the crud too, Jo! Yuki and the hat are cute. She is such a daddy's girl! |
I'm so glad to hear your family is all back together! Welcome home! |
I LOVE that pic of lil J smiling (pic #3). SO cute. Not that all the other pics weren't adorbable, though!
They totally made me cry--I'm seriously an emotional pregnant lady now, I cry at everything. I was even tearing up last night watching Survivor when they got to do a challenge with their families I'm am just SOOO happy for you guys that you are once again all together. And tell Yuki she needs to share! |
I am amazed at how emotional I got just looking at those pictures. I can't imagine what it was like to be there! Welcome home to all the fellows and gals who have watched over us. Once again... THANK YOU! |
A little tear and a big smile on my face. I'm so happy the family is back together!! I hope you don't mind if I give Big J a BIG HUG 1. For his service to this wonderful country, 2. For coming home safe and sound to his family, 3. For having a sheepdog as his K9 soulmate and 4. For not giving me his CRUD!

I think this photo sums it all up!
Glad Mr J is home safe & sound. What do you mean he's at work today????????? Doesn't he get a leave for a while? |
Wow...that makes me cry, too. I'm so happy he's home. |
welcome home |
wow! what wonderful photos!!!!
Thank you Mr. J. for protecting us, but more importantly, for coming home safe to the Mrs! |
I love the banner over the garage. Lil J looks so happy, glad he made it home safely.
Thank you Mr. J for all did for us. You truely are a hero. |
Welcome home Mr. J. Thank you for your service. You and your family have been in my prayers for a safe return. God bless you and your wonderful family. |
this is what living in the usa is and freedom is all about thanks to you !! |
He smiled when he came home for lunch. He gets embarrassed when he gets any attn. He received 3 days off when he got home but then it's mandatory to go back to work because troops tend to go nuts in the form of spending money, strip clubs/prostitutes, and more importantly... beating/killing their wives due to the drastic change of pace, environment, and people they're surrounded by (instead of all men going through the same thing). It's real smart esp. since even the most stable soldier often comes home and has a transition period whether it be temper, impatient/has to go go go, or extreme nightmares. He said every hour of the night there were always IED's being thrown towards their FOB, so sleeping in such a quiet place can be strange. Thankfully, Mr. J seems to be doing well this time around. He needed time to deal with customer service last time around...

I felt bad for mullet girl when she had to choose the two people to enjoy the reward. ..........but also couldn't stop looking at her husband (not what I expected). Anyway, thanks again for all the support from Mr. J and his family. There's such a feeling of relief and comfort to have someone in the house again. ...and not having to stress over what I hear on the news since they will report an accident but never the names of the soldiers. |
Great pics Jo! Welcome home and many thanks to Mr.J, feel better soon . This will rank as one of your best holidays ever. |
This whole post has me tearing up too Thank you for sharing all the joy and excitement of Mr. J's homecoming with us.
I just love how much Yuki adores her Daddy! Abby is just like that with Scott. These girl sheepies are so emotional! |
Welcome home Mr. J!!! We're glad you're safe and with your family where you belong! |
Did you tell him of the sacrifice I made for our country, and the carnage to the country's jelly bean reserves it caused?
"Buttered Popcorn" Jelly Bellies were in very short supply in the Northeast. |
AWWWWWW the photos are just so precious and Lil J always melts my heart.
Welcome Home Mr. J. make sure Mrs.J. is spoiling you rotten Yuki must be soooooo happy her daddy is home as well. Merry Christmas to you all and may santa spoil you all as well. Hugs to you all from the land downunder. We salute you Mr. J for all that you have done |
I had to read and look at your pictures twice...I couldn't see them properly the first time because of my tears... He is a HERO, he is doing a wonderful job and I envy you for being able to manage alone for so long!
Welcome home Mr J!!! |
Mrs J, the pictures are great, had me tearing up too.
I love the banner!! Lil J looks so happy and excited. I hope both Mr J and Lil J are feeling better. Mr J won't have to worry about quiet nights much longer. I am sure it will be plenty loud at night there really soon. lol As for Yuki, that is so sweet how much she loves her Daddy. But I would not tolerate her sleeping in the middle, at least not now. (BTW, She looks wonderful) I bet your happy that you don't have to eat anymore jellybeans. I bet you won't want to eat them again, for at least a year. |
OMG!!! Welcome home!!!!!!!!!!! I have the chills just thinking about the welcome homes. Thank you Mr. J for all you have done to serve our country and to protect us. Now give your family some more lovin' |
What a beautiful, heartwarming thread! I'm SO glad that Mr. J made it home safe and sound to his loving family. Jo, I'm so in awe of you and how you handled being the "head of the house" all this time. Even though Mr. J may find it harder to sleep in a quiet environment for awhile, I'm sure YOU are sleeping better, huh?
It doesn't surprise me that Yuki loves her daddy so much. Drez is a daddy's girl, too, and Buford, our male first sheepie, was a mommy's boy. Anyone else find this to be the case with their sheepies? Mr. J, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unselfish service to our country. I hope you and lil J feel better soon and that your whole family has the very merriest Christmas ever! |
I can't add anything else... everyone before me has said it so well.
Thank you doesn't seem like enough for the sacrifices all of you have made.... you - Lil' J and of course Mr J. Big hugs to all of you-- and - a salute to Mr. J for his bravery in serving our country. Welcome back!! |
Welcome home Mr J!!!
You are also amazing Ms J, for all the sacrifices you made as well. Little J as always for being so adorable!! I'm going to have to send you a pic some day of my eldest son who looked very much like Little J when he was that age. Always brings back lots of memories for me. Marianne |

Sheepies and their Daddies??? I've already told y'all MO sleeps with her Daddy I get get to share a bed with Harry while Jack sleeps on the couch next to the bed.........gratefully he can't climb onto the bed nor jump. (some nights Glacier joins us and keeps us awake with her snoring ) |
WELCOME HOME now you must let us know what Mr J thinks of your BABYBUMP wendy and gismo |
Mr. J just says my baby bump is bigger than last time. ...but also thinks I'm carrying well (small compared to our friends who are due the same time).
I'm actually 1.5 cent dilated and 50% effaced as of my last appt. (32 wks) Dr said it could mean nothing and I keep baby in until 40 wks. I just hope he stays in just a little longer! |
Thank you Mr. J |
Glad to know that Mr. J is home safe and sound.
With my second, I was 90% effaced and 1 cm dialated for 3 weeks with nary a contraction. Ever. Uncomfortable, but we were both fine. I had had one previous c-section, and in those days, it was almost impossible to find a doc who would let you try natural after one c-section. Mine would, but since I wasn't going into labor, and he couldn't induce me because of the previous c-section, we opted to do a c-section for #2 as well. Hope you keep your little bump where it belongs for some more weeks, too! Hug that man for me. |
