I am feeding my 5 month old nutro ultra....I just reread the directions and I am feeding him almost double what I need to! Oops, my scoop is 2 cups and not 1 cup. That probably matters! Anyone else use nutro ultra? It is puppy for large breeds. He still has his gas problem so I am going to see if they have a lamb and rice for him. Could the gas be from eating too much food as well. Thanks for all your help! |

I Nutro Ultra. My dogs have been on the food for one year and are very healthy and happy (especially in the "poop" department). |
If you feeding him double, yes that will cause him to poop more! Usually if I feed extra food, the poop will become soft and/or runny. Anbd alot of gas...see how he does on the leser amount and see if the gas subsides. If my guy has a lot of gas, I pop him a rolaids that has a small amount of simethone which helps the gas and the bloating...
Also, be sure to allow at least an hour after exercising before feeding...and feed in two or three smaller meals rather than one. Never used the food you are using so I'll leave advice on that for others. |
Mine have been supplemented with the Nutro Ultra puppy (for the fat and protein - not because they need puppy food) They really like it.
Too much food intake will definitely result in nasty poop and nasty gas. The system is just overloaded with too much rich food material. This is true no matter what brand you are using. |
My Summer is on james wellbeloved or nutro depending what they have in. Iam never quite sure if I am feeding her too much or too little. I find the guidelines very difficult to understand, is it me being thick or do others think this? |
