my hubby uses a pair for the airplane but i think that you can get some good ones for tv to.
he likes them for the plane zoe and einy |
I have Bose noise cancelling headphones for the airplane and I love them. They are really comfortable and take away all that white noise.
I think what you probably want is for him to have a pair of headphones that don't have noise leakage -- where you can't hear what he is listening to. Noise cancelling means that it blocks out the external ambient noise so you can focus on what is coming through the headphones or enjoy some silence. They don't cancel all external sounds (you can still hear voices when wearing them) and it doesn't mean that no sound comes out of the headphones to disturb other people. In any event, I think Bose would be an excellent choice because they are so cushy and padded that I don't think you would hear what he is listening to. |
There are several manf. that make wireless TV headphones that work like a charm. A google or amazon search should give you a selection. |
You guys know that sound Bose speakers puts out is gross? From a truly technical point of view, that company only puts out midrange sound, meaning it only reproduces the midrange tones. The industry statement is "No highs, no lows, must be Bose". They advertise big sound but that just comes from the blah, flat tone.
I don't think that their product is worth what they charge for it. They should make car seats or recliners because their headphones are always comfortable, they just sound like crap when you are trying to actually use them for mixing or working. |

But for listening to tv or music on an airplane, comfort is more important to me than true sound fidelity. |
Well sure. I just hate to see people pay the money that they charge too!!!
As much as I hate Bose, I do have a set of their speakers in my house, because they were FREE!!! I had ordered some pro speakers from a company and they sent these. Total mistake and they said just keep them. |
Stacy, are you meaning those little headphone things that look almost like a hearing aid and the old people watch tv in bed or go to church and use it? Or more of the substantial Bose type ones... |
my father in law uses them he is hard of hearing and has the tv so loud no one can be in the room, with those it is great. |
Thank you for clarifying for me, guys! What I'm looking for is a set of ireless headphones so that Steve can listen to TV loudlyv and I don't need to listen to most of it. |
I have a pair of acoustic research wireless ear phones. This is the second pair I have had. The are the best that I have used. The only reason I replaced them was that they do not like to be dropped on a cement floor. I have a serious hearing lose, and they are great at allowing me to understand the tv. I can have the tv volume down so far that it can not be heard, although the sound is much better if the volume is just loud enough that you would think someone was whispering. Be sure that there is good range of thransmission wvwn if your room is not that big. It is nice to me able to go to the kitchen or bathroom and know what is goin on. |
