awwww..how wonderful! I LOVE both of your haircuts.....
You both are beautiful!!!!!!!! Look at those big silly smiles...how much Johny Walker did you two have |
How fun to be able to get together for a special Holiday lunch. I agree with Darcy-- you are both beautiful ladies! |
We had such a good time. The weather has been awful so I was afraid our lunch would get canceled. But we are tough broads! Thank you Deborah for not posting the "full body" shot which showed my big stomach. It's been 6 hours since we ate and I'm still full. Darcy, Deborah and I drink Chivas Regal unless Nita is around then we drink her Glenfidditch.
And no geese in sight. They must have gone south for the winter. |

Awww, I knew Paula was a sweetie without having to meet her! |

We did have a good time. Its amazing, we have met in person about 4, maybe 5 times, but when we get together we talked our heads off, as though we've been friends since childhood! There is a restaurant (a few of them) in our area called Hackneys. They have a marvelous, artery clogging side dish, called Onion Loaf. It is thinly sliced onions, dipped in breading, formed into a loaf, and then deep fried. WOWIE! Is it ever great!!!!!! If any of you nonChicagoans get to Chicago (northern burbs) you really must try them. They are out of this world! Note to Paula...I didn't post the full length picture because they weren't as sharp. And I liked that our faces were showing clearly in this one. And...btw, you looked fabulous in the second full pic. I'll email it to you! |
What FUN!!
Onion loaf sounds DIVINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What hold the onions "together"? |

Onion loaf sounds DIVINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What hold the onions "together"? Grease. An onion loaf is a giant brick of onion rings smashed together. I pull chunks off with my fingers because I have no manners. It's easier that way than using using fork. Nita, you and Von should come visit for the weekend. Lots of good shopping and of course, onion loaf! |
OH YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, sign me up!!!
Which just proves what I always say, I may be a vegatarian but I don't necessarily eat healthy |
Cute girls! Looks like you had fun! Ugh, thoughts of onion loaf is giving me heartburn! |
How fun! I must have lost my invitation |
Awww...what a great photo...you both look beautiful!! How lovely to get together with friends and enjoy a nice drink and some yummy fattening food!! |
Onion loaf sounds divine....but I think it would taste better with a crisp white rather than that expensive "rot gut" you guys drink....lol....
I know, I know, its an acquired taste.... |
Darcy...you have to be a "broad" to drink that gut rot! |
debcram wrote: Darcy...you have to be a "broad" to drink that gut rot!
then Im out....preppy grey haired ''little boy'' from G.P. would never touch that stuff....hehe I will eat that onionloaf with ya though!! |
Good Scotch is hardly rot gut. And I drink only the good stuff.
But it would all taste better with a cigarette. |
You two look great! Onion loaf sounds delish!!
I'll pass on the rocket fuel though. |

Amen, sister!! |

Ok, ok...before our reputations go down the drain (pun intended), in our defense, we were there for several hours. Paula had 1 drink, I had 2 (and several cups of coffee) and not a cigarette was smoked.

And that is why this topic is titled, "LADIES who lunch"! Not Dames, not Broads, not Chicks... LADIES! |

That does not mean that the desire to smoke wasn't there though. I would have had more drinks if I still smoked...... And I pulled the onion loaf apart with my fingers, so that hardly qualifies me as a "lady." Plus I don't wear big @ss hats when I go out to lunch. |

Stop it Paula! You don't have to reveal all of our secrets!!!!! |
Paula O. wrote: I don't wear big @ss hats when I go out to lunch. OK, more than one snide remark possible:
1) What do you wear to cover your @ss then? 2) Not even red ones and purple dresses? |

Deborah and I are NOT those red hat ladies (which I first typed as red "hate" ladies, a true Freudian slip). As for your first remark Ron, don't make me beat you in public. |
Paula O. wrote: As for your first remark Ron, don't make me beat you in public. Paula! That's not very ladylike! |
okay, i think ive figured it out..
Paula is the broad and Deb is the lady... |
