I am finally finished with school! I took my last final today and I am done! Forever! Forever and ever! My graduation is next Friday and I have my Master's in Accounting now. I am sooooooooooooo glad to be done! I've been crazy busy the past few weeks with finals and projects, on top of work deadlines and Nanny and my eye issues. Finally, a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders and I can concentrate more on everything else. And buy Nanny her Christmas stocking. Anyway, I just had to share my news! It's nice to have time to be on the forum again. I have to get Nanny pictures up soon. She's 30lbs now and turned 4 months old this week! |

Way to go!!! |
Wow masters in accounting! Considering I personally struggled through my accounting classes in college, I think that is a wonderful accomplishment. Good luck with your future. What are your future plans? CFO position something you are aspiring towards? Opening your own firm? |
Thanks everyone!! And yes, I do have to go back to school with Nanny. lol She's had all of her shots now so she can start puppy school.
As for me, I already have a job related to my degree. I'm in a senior position with my department that deals with a specialized tax area. However, after I sit for the CPA exam next year, I will probably move into something else. Maybe individual taxation. My grandfather was a private CPA and my mom bought him out when he retired... and now she's waiting on me! I also have an interest in finance/accounting for a nonprofit organization. We'll see. For right now, I'm just taking a break. The holidays are here and I want to enjoy them, stress-free! And at the beginning of January, my husband and my family and I are all going skiing in Colorado for a week. I'm excited about that! I'm looking into Nanny accomodations. I want her to go to a place that gives her own little room, has playtime and social time during the day, works on her training, and does grooming and overall pampering. Basically, a spa week for Nanny. |
congratulations |
Well while in Colorado (don't know where you are going) feel free to contact me!!!
Ali in Northern Colorado |

Ali in Northern Colorado I'd take that as an invitation to drop the dog there! |
UN UN GEORGE!!!!!!!!!! Those that know me real well right now know i cannot have ANY more stress here! I have had my limit for the rest of the year here............ Just cannot have any more nope, nada, none, no way, no how ...............
But i will be more than happy to meet them somewhere and have some chats and they are more than happy to come here too for a sheepie fix should one be needed!!! |
Congratulations!!! |
THAT'S WONDERFUL!!!
Congratulations! If you are looking to "donate" or to be involved with OES rescue in the future, can I mention that some OES rescues need to file 501(c)(3) tax returns and that is/can be a burdensome financial outlay. I think NEOESR, for example, pays almost $800 a year. Perhaps you could help some of the smaller rescues with their returns! Maybe their filing dates don't line up with personal income tax deadlines, too. Just a thought to keep in the back of your mind somewhere. Woo hoo! |
Fantastic news! What a great accomplishment! I don't know how you guys do it. Steve finished his MBA earlier this year after taking one class a semester for 4 very long years. Me...after watching him back in school, I think I'll take a pass and get by with my BS |

YAHZOOTIE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ditto! Congratulations! |
My graduation is tomorrow! My parents and grandparents, little sister and my husband will all be there. I'm just looking forward to dinner afterwards.
Ali - we're going to Wolf Creek Park in Pagosa Springs. It's barely North of New Mexico, so it's probably far from you. They get a ton of snow there though. I've been to Wolf Creek once before. Ron - I don't even know how to do my own tax return yet! lol (My mom does them.. since she has her own practice.) My current job doesn't deal with that type of tax, so I don't have that experience yet. Maybe soon though. Stacy - I understand! The Masters degree was really only a prerequisite for me so I can take the CPA exam. And there were so many people in my classes working on their MBAs..taking 1 class at a time! If you went year-round (spring-summer-fall), that would still take 6 years at UTD!! I'm not the most patient person in the world, so I took 2 classes at a time until the end, when I was taking 3 at once. (Yes, and working full-time...I know, I'm crazy). But I'm done so it was worth it! |
Stephanie,
Iknow Wolf Creek quite WELL! I grew up there at the Wolf Creek Ranch at the top of the pass on the left on way up to Ski area every summer for 2 months from time i was 3 yrs. old! When i went to College in Durango, we would go up, and i was dating one of the guys that managed the area, we would all sleep in the lodge and groom the trails in the cat's at night! I will be home Tues. night from the shows..... if you guys need anything let me know... still have contact up there. And when you come back thru Denver let me know........ may be able to come down and meet ya. Be careful they say we are to have another storm starting tonight....... lots of snow up there...... |
Congrats on your degree and your graduation!!! |

I bet it looks amazing after you smooth it down. We're not going through Denver, though. My husband and I are coming from Dallas, and my family from Houston, so we're all flying into Albuquerque. We're going to rent a car there and drive up (stopping in Sante Fe). I've never been to Denver. Maybe someday! |

AWHHHH GO to the Pink Adobe or the SHED resturant!!! ummmm The smell of Santa Fe this time of year is AWESOME and something i remember always! One of my favourite cities in the world....... the town in Mexico we are considering moving to is just like Santa Fe!! Have a GREAT time! I hear it is snowing up a storm (yuk yuk yuk!) right now up that way and moving down this way tomorrow. |
We are definitely going to the Pink Adobe! |
i must have missed this before- congratulations!!!
