Drew Peterson

For those of you who don't live in the Midwest, Drew Peterson is a "retired" cop, who had his third wife accidently (yea right) die in the bathtub, and now his 4th wife has disappeared.

It is all over the news here in Chicago.

I'm not going to go into detail, only because this post would be HUGE.

But...I just want to say, I am so sick of this arrogant a**hole. He is reminisent of OJ. He gets so much "face time" on the news to flaunt himself. I get so angry! Why does the media allow this? Shut this guy out, and maybe he will shut his mouth.

(Getting off my soapbox!) :sidestep:

Try for those of you who don't live in America...this guy is everywhere. He's been on the Today show more than once already...

My favorite answer to an interview question from Matt Lauer by this jerk was:

Question: Do you think your wife was involved with another man.

Answer: No, I don't believe so. Actually, she might have been. Yes, I think she was.

All that within like 2 seconds. What a creep.
He also blamed her disappearance on her being Pre-menstrial.

Why do they keep giving him a forum?
You just know he killed his 4th wife, and most likely had a hand in the death of his 3rd (who was found dead in an empty bathtub with head wounds, but her death was ruled an accidental drowning). Being an ex-cop (the operative word being "ex") one of two things will happen: the PD will get sick of him giving them a bad name and will totally rat him out OR the PD will band together to protect one of their "brothers."

And now the step-brother is claming he helped Peterson carry a "large blue barrel that was warm to the touch and weighed about 120 pounds" out of the bedroom soon after the wife disappeared????? Oh, but he suffers "memory lapses."
Wasn't there another (Scott) Peterson involved in his wife's (Lacy) murder?

Yes, I was actually going to make a remark that it might a good idea to steer clear of Petersons in general, just to be safe.
I find it strange that Stacy and Drew Peterson would have named their 2 year old daughter Lacy. Laci Peterson (wife of Scott) was murdered in December 2002. Lacy is not a very common name so it is obvious they chose to do that given their last name.

It just strikes me as odd.
It is odd, given their last name, but Lacey/Laci, etc. is now a REALLY popular baby name, so it's not that odd in the normal people world.

Yes Lacy is a normal name now but still not common (as in everyday you hear a parent call a child that).

Surely someone would have said to them - hey don't do that to that kid. It was all over the news for a few years - you would have to be living in a box to have done that by chance. I would not have name a baby Sharon if my last name was Tate in the years following the Manson murders. I think a child deserves all the positive karma they can get when coming into this world.

I went to school with a Charlie Manson.

I wish I was joking. 8O
hahaha what girl in her right mind would go on a date with charlie manson? poor kid.

on a similar note... there's a newscaster in Chicago named Robin Robinson and it has always bugged me.... I mean did they really have their heart set on "Robin" that much?
Maybe Robinson is her married name.

Yeah, but it's more fun to make fun of her name believing her parents gave it to her.

Although if my husband's name was funny, or would make my name sound silly, I think I might be a hyphenated person. That way she would at least be Robin Smith Robinson...breaks it up a little.
Speaking of funny names, I now find it the right time to tell everyone (strange thread for this), but Steve has been making fun of everyone's name on the holiday cards and the one's coming in too. He likes to see where everyone is located and then makes us something silly

My personal favorite (sorry) is the early bird gets the worm  Ron, I think you'd get a kick out of Steve's dry sense of humor. It sometimes mirrors your own. :D

As long as my name isn't tied to Mitt Romney and Mormans, I'm good. I'm soooooo tired of hearing about him and what he does in private. Living in Utah, I hear more about him/them than the Peterson case.

Ron, can't you guys take him back? Please??
Yeah, my mom didn't want me to change, Stacy, but I wanted to trade in my long Polish name for a short German one. It was all about getting the number of letters in my name down!

I do think men who work craft show booths should be careful about who they make fun of, though...
Mitt wasn't bad here -- First off, you can't do much damage when you are always on the road running for President. Secondly, you can't get much accomplished when out of 160 members of the House of Representatives, 141 are Democrats and you're a Republican Governor.

It's really, REALLY hard to even get your line item vetos sustained. Last time the Legislature didn't even bother holding more than 5 minute debate on any of their overrides, and I believe that all overrides passed.

Finally, did I mention he wasn't around much?
i have a very close friend who hyphens her name...

its beer-brueur...yup for real 8)

Stacy, you poor thing, that's so mean of him  . Actually Wurm is derived from an old aristocratic name, chances are good that the person is desended from royalty. The name originally started with Von, hence the royalty, Wurm is merely an angelicized version. We may have some real prince or princess here! Wow, wouldn't that be cool :)

True, true. James actually let me know when I first met him that it was shortened when their family first came to America. It was actually prefaced with the German words "10 Zoll." You can look it up on a translation site if you aren't familiar with it.
I had a good german maiden name - Heinel. It was the americanized version of Heinl.
My dad is an only child, and I only have sisters. No more family name happening! When I got married, I toyed with the idea of doing the hyphenated name, but it was just too weird. Heinel-Finch - sounds like something that belongs on a bavarian menu!
Yikes, in some countries you can be beheaded for making fun of nobility 8O . Be kind Princess Jill!

Boy did we ever hi-jack this thread. We had a customer in the store the other day and his name was Davey Pavey.
Wonder if he ever getscalled DREWP? Nah, he'd kill somebody over it!
Heaven forbid, if I should ever go missing..................................my husband might want to squeeze out a few tears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
