I'd play a certain type of music in the background if this wasn't a G rated site. |
I like the following sites:
www.travelzoo.com www.hotels.com www.tripadvisor.com |
My favorite website for travel lately has been kayak.com They have had the best rates on airfare and rental cars and hotels and such whenever I have looked. Good luck and enjoy your trip. |

You go, girlfriend!!
Is this the Christmas present?? |
No, this is just an idea we were tossing around. Something we'd like to do in maybe late January or early February. I want some guaranteed snow!!
How's the snow forecast in your area Chris? I'm not tied to New England. |
Woohoo! Tammy and her new man sitting in a tree K I S S I N G!!
I have no suggestions, I just wanted to heckle you! |
Some of the local stations out of Philadelphia have made their winter snow forecasts/predictions, but I haven't listened to them. Snow is pretty when it first falls and if you can stay inside and just watch it. But when you have to drive in it to get anywhere, and watch it become black with road dirt, and worry about icy slick spots on the roads, it becomes a hassle. I have always loved living in an area where we get 4 definitive seasons, but I'm getting to the point where there's one season I can definitely live without! |
I just want to go somewhere for a few days where I can play in the snow. They're predicting another mild dry winter for us, so it isn't likely I'll get to see any staying home.
Steph - you're reminding me of my niece Hayley. She's already telling her mom (my sis) that she thinks she's getting a new uncle. I said "Whoa Nellie!!" |

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuure, you did. |
Do you have an idea of the activities you'd like to pursue up here in my neck of the woods? Skiing? Apres Ski?
Killington Vermont is pretty popular, and when you get up into northern New England like Vermont and in the hills, then snow is still pretty much guaranteed. It can be bitterly cold (well below 0) sometimes, but not usually. |
If you're not tied to New England, and wouldn't mind flying, Northern Michigan is getting lots of snow. The winter storm advisory that was lifted last night will be back in place Saturday night, and there's nothing but snow in the forcast for the next week! |

It can be bitterly cold (well below 0) sometimes, but not usually. As silly and cliche as it sounds, I want to go on a sleigh ride. I ski, too, so that's definitely a possibility. But, other than that, I'm open to suggestions. I'd actually like to come back to Boston, but I know it's harder to guarantee the snow there. |
