worms
 Cats are usually in house but this one had gotten out at times. He had meds about 3 months ago and the dogs did have meds in beginning of Out. Other cat never did get it into her. We tried everything from crushing it up a mixing. Big joke, tring to force her by flicking it at back of throat, mixing it with soft cat food. She does not eat people stuff at all. All other fur family are piggys and have no problems. I usually do worm meds 3 times now thinking 4 times a year. Is this enough. When I had only one dog and 1 cat I just did it yearly, but there has been a problem with worms around this area a few months ago. So you never know what the can get into. So any advice would be great i'm just grossed out. |

For a cat, the most important would be to keep the litter box cleaned out. The cat will be pooping out the worms and eggs, and you want to NOT have this cat or the others step in it, lick themselves and reinfest. Plus, depending on the med, it may make the poop a little loose or runny - double-yuck!

well got them all de wormed. Cats we had to wrap up open mouth pray that I would have my arms and face when done. Flicked it in and blew on their noses (makes them swallow, vet said) it worked. Blue did threw up 8 hours later at nite for David. Blue good boy he does this only at nite.  Now how often do people de worm I read every 3 months, 6 months. yearly???? And does worming med kill what they may have but now does it prevent them for awhile or can the worms come again starting now, does that make sense? |
| Are you talking cats or dogs? I know nothing about cats but I do know that for dogs, heartworm preventatives will keep most worms away and you don't have to worry about periodic deworming that way. |
I do know the worms being expelled is a PRETTY DIGUSTING sight  The only time Tasker has EVER had worms was when I first brought him home. He was of course wormed immediately and I will never forget the TRAUMA of seeing those long white worms coming out of his butt EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. |
| I never seen the worms on the dogs but did them anyways, because the cat had some worms on his back end but never did see it in the box?? I have been cleaning the cat box 2-3 day right now and still seen nothing? Which is ok for me, and the cats back end is now ok. I just now I have a clean scrub down house and all beds clean. Becasue I feel icky. Ohh and -25 I have not gone outside yet to do the doggy doo either. Our neibour had a new pup a few months ago and had him dewormed and he was full of worms when he poo.
