Miffy was found, along with two male OES, after having been abandoned at an old farm house in South Carolina for about a month. She was taken to the local dog pound where she was found to be pregnant. Miffy gave birth to nine puppies, none of whom lived due to her having been starved and neglected during her pregnancy. A wonderful volunteer notified TOES of these three needy OES and we immediately began plans to rescue them. The volunteer kept one of the males and has been taking great care of him. TOES rescued both Miffy and the other male, Magoo. Miffy before grooming and surgeries: Once Miffy was pronounced strong enough to endure the surgeries by the vet, she had a hernia repaired, had a tumor mass removed and was spayed. She was treated for ringworms, hookworms and tapeworms and ear infections. Magoo was heartworm positive. His heart was so enlarged that the vet wasn’t sure if he’d make it. But, after two HW treatments, he rallied with the typical sheepie spirit and regained his health. He was also treated for ringworm, hookworm and tapeworms and a massive ear infection and he was neutered. Both of these babies were fostered by our TOES treasurer, Alison. They were underweight and malnourished and in serious need of TLC. They received all the love, food and attention that they so desperately needed in her home. Finally, after about two months, they were healthy enough to move into their new forever homes. Miffy was adopted by Steven & Michael and is now living the high life in Charleston, South Carolina, along with her OES fur-sister Savannah. Magoo was adopted by the Ertzbergers and is soaking up all their love & attention as an only dog.
