A few of us do but we don't link to it here. Trying to preserve our "Family Friendly" status on OES.org!! |
ah...cool beans ...very understandable sent a post to Ron asking the samething about links.....kinda thought better of the topic after I posted it here
open mouth insert foot... sometimes I am like ready, fire, aim, ya know? |
At least you asked!! It's not outlined anywhere so what better way to find out than to ask?
Believe me, if you do something really dumb, we'll let you know. Until then, just bask in your motd glory!! |
I still have my myspace profile but I don't check it much. These days I'm liking Facebook more-- there's a few of us from here on there. |
I don't understand what you guys mean by Myspace not being family-friendly? At least, each oes member's site is probably okay? I don't know.
I have a site on there, but I don't get on very often. It's mainly just a great way to keep in touch with your old high school friends once everyone moves all over the place. I'm not exactly sure why it's popular with younger people (still in high school). I mean, don't they see their friends every day? |
In my opinion, the problems with MySpace include the Laissez-faire attitude that it's OK to publish anything, and the fact that many different people can publish stuff on your page. If someone doesn't check their page often, it can be home to all sorts of bad stuff, even if the page owner has good intentions.
My goodness, I signed up with the site, and the first friend I got was "tom" supposedly the creator of the site. His webpage ran a song for months that was incredibly suggestive and including a request that had the F word in it (and a few other suggested activities). Everyone got/still gets that link when they sign up... doesn't matter what age they are. I thought that was disgusting and irresponsible and decided that MySpace wasn't a wholesome and family-friendly environment to which oes.org should link. |
