Mine's not in a braid, but I store mine at room temperature (which is cool at my house this time of year) in a small brown paper bag. It keeps well like that. |
Away from moisture (so not over sink or stove), out of sunlight (no windowell), cool (this might be the hardest if your home is uniform warm), away from freezing (is the garage out? if not, put in paper bag to keep off road dust). Depending how it was cured and what temperatures it has experienced before it got to you, it may last many months or start sprouting in a few months. Use quickly if for food. |
I've never read anything on it but I've had good luck storing mine in a plastic container in the freezer. Try it - you've nothing to loose. |
