Hmmm...Ron...can I ask for referrals? |

Certainly |
Sorry no recommendations for a groomer, as I am in sunny (rainy) California. However, I never thought I could groom them my self, yet here I am getting pretty good at it. At first I would have Tyler groomed and once shaved for the summer, I would do my own baths. Then we bought a house and the groomer was no longer in the budget. I became the groomer. Here is what I do. Once per year, I will take them in to have them clipped, (I ask for a puppy cut, same cut as a poodle) and ears plucked and pads trimmed all professional and fancy looking. But the rest of the time I do it my self, I shave them, bathe them, pluck them and trim foot hair too. I do draw the line at the anal gland thing. When I bought the Whal Clipper, it came with a video and that is what I base my cutting on. I will tell you that I use a pet wash place near home to do the bath part. It's one of those do it yourself type places and they clean up the mess. I love that part. The clipping I do on the patio at home. I set up a big folding table, put a rubber mat on it and hook up the clippers and away I go. I do this now because the house payment and we have since adopted two more fur balls.
So when you go to a groomer, make sure they know what a puppy cut is. They have a standard cut for furry puppies. Poodle hair and sheepie hair is pretty much the same. Good luck |
