The city is Clayton and the county is Rabun so not sure who is responsible, I think the city. The water dept had to turn off the water at my parents house, restaurant, and cabins among other residents. No big deal can handle that. I saw them there working this a.m. and during the early afternoon. Then they left and I did as well. I get back to the cabin and no water and no water dept employees. Maybe had to go get something, parts etc. This afternoon ask parents if they heard from the water dept? Reply was no. So I call and get a response of, ready for this... Well it is time for us to go home. What!!!!!!!!!!!! You are kidding me. I thought you are the water dept your job is to fix the problem and get the water turned on for the citizens of the city, or ones affected anyway that is your job. I then asked calmly why didn't anyone come and let the people know or why did know one get a phone call telling them that they will have no water. The reply was it is just for a night and it will back on tomorrow.
I have friends that work for the water dept in Evergreen, Colorado and if they have to work all night to solve a problem then they do just that. They don't go home, have dinner, get a good nights rest and come back the next day. Just can't believe this is ok.
Sorry just need to vent some frustration. I can't wait to get back to Evergreen. Could say more but might offend some people. I have to go to the grocery store and get water for Obe, to brush my teeth, and to have some coffee in the a.m. |
Sounds the same when our power /phones get cut off, from the oils rig digging out of town, have been off for over 12 hours, not fun, more so NOT fun in the winter, we go running to parents houses with woodstoves when nothing works then, BUT our water does (gas) |
