My Old English who i think is 4yrs old (not really mine, im 15) gets really aggressive and occasionally bites people who he doesnt know. I'am writing this because just today he bit my brothers friend on the nose, and she has gone to hospital. This is the first time it has gone so far, and i really want my dog to change. He hasn't been neutered yet, would that maybe help? The odd thing is, he is a large dog, but when he meets other dogs he seems to be scared of them. But he shows a completey different reaction to humans, he instead turns all macho. Please help, i want to be able to show what a great dog he is to my friends without being scared he will bite someone. |

Loudfr,
It would be a great idea to get your dog neutered..it should make a world of difference... also, it sounds like he could use some serious training classes. Call around to your local dog trainers or ask your vet for recommendations.. If you are afraid that you cant control your dog, its best to keep him away from your guests until you can get a handle on him. This is serious. I would check into the above before he really hurts someone else or even you. |
I agree with Darcy, have him neutered and look for a dog trainer or obedience classes. There are a couple of places you can look for dog trainers in your area such as
Animal Behavior College Association of Pet Dog Trainers Good luck! |
