1. Groomers (who get generously tipped all year long) 2. Hairdresser 3. Manicurist 4. Housekeeper 5. Personal trainer (I've only been going to her for about 6 weeks) Are small gifts ok for some of these, or will I seem cheap? HELP! |

I think #4 should always be money. ...and then a gift as something additional if you wanted
You've already paid for your personal trainer so unless you were just being sweet, I wouldn't get them anything. I worked at a gym and no one gave me something as a tip.... if they gave me a gift, it was just cause.... I think the rest can work either way. A nice gift when you are finished with their service, I can't imagine being offended by a nice gift. Although for myself, I'd feel so weird not tipping my usual 15-20% .....and just handing them a gift instead. I don't think it's wrong though because I'm sure they will smile to get a gift. I'm not someone who doesn't tip if someone is the owner of a grooming salon or hair salon unless they specifically say something... I mean, who the heck doesn't prefer extra money? |
Other than the housekeeper and the trainer, I tip the others all year long. I'm just trying to figure out, what to do for the holidays. |
I think tipping the personal trainer would be a little weird. But a Christmas bonus is nice for the housekeeper though.
As for the manicurist and hairstylist... I guess you can give them a Christmas gift if you know them well enough. I don't do that stuff often enough to think about giving them presents. Just don't overdo it to the point that Christmas is no longer enjoyable and happy and it becomes one big obligation to get a gift for everyone you come in contact with. I know people like that, and they become so frazzled and stressed that I think they forget the reason for the season... and they certainly don't seem like they enjoy the holidays. |
Don't forget to tip the webmaster!

It's easy, it's fast and it is almost always one of the most appreciated tips. |
When are we going to start paying for additional/special features? I remember you mentioning that a month ago. I'm excited about that! |
I gave everyone that link for free. I'm such a softie.
What services would you like to pay for? |
I don't know... I just remember in the orange box thread I started awhile ago... you said you were working on something where if you pay for membership (or something of that nature) then you can get some extra features. If you're just asking in general, I'd say I'd pay just to have a lot more emoticons! Not redundant ones but there are a zillion out there that I wish I could use.
I'd also love the ability to always edit my post, but I'm sure you wouldn't in the fear you may lose some info posted if someone later decides to erase it. |
Stop telling Ron to charge us! He's rich enough. He has so much money, he doesn't count it, HE WEIGHS IT |
Am I the only one who read the heading and thought this post was going to be about cow tipping? |

I love the concept of cow tipping!!!! Think I can start groomer tipping, hairdresser tipping etc??? What a hoot! |
Hi Deb!
I tip my groomer generously all year, as she takes great care of Oscar, and he goes in every two weeks. I also tip my manicurist well, as I see her weekly and it's hard not to become friendly when you see someone more than you see most of your family members! As I have been seeing my hairdresser for 20 years, he gets tipped well too. On my last visit with each of the above before Christmas, I give the following, in addition to their regular tip: 1. Groomer: Target gift card 2. Manicurist: Christmas ornament and xtra cash 3. Hairdresser: Gift card for restaurant Alas, I do not have a housekeeper, but if I did, I would give xtra cash for the holidays. Laurie and Oscar, the Big Tipper |
We always give are mailman something as well. He deserves it exp. around Christmas.
I know it has to stink to be out there in that ice cold wind and snow. |
If I had Ron's money, I'd burn mine... |
I belong in the cow tipping group! |

This is the first time I have read this thread because I thought it was going to be along the lines of cow tipping. Funny now that I have read the post. |

Vicki & George wrote: Ron does this work for Amazon.co.uk as well? No. only Amazon.com Vicki & George wrote: Let us know how many Rolex watches you get Well, they're sold out of that $12,500 watch, so maybe Mulligan bought it for me! LOL I have noticed he's been saving up his kibble. |
We do a lot of cow-tipping where I'm from. I mean... the boys do.
....but in no way did I think there was someone who thought the subject was referring to it |
Is (cow) tipping a seasonal thing? |
