Cleaning BIG sheepies messes

Hi all,

As some of you may know, after a wonderfully exciting day at SheepieFest! Pirate (who had partied a wee bit too much) had a terrible bout of the runs on our white living room carpet.

I tried and tried but couldn't get it even acceptably clean.

My friend has a cleaning service and I asked for her advice. She told me to go to Home Depot or Menards and get "Capture" carpet cleaner.

Well, I got it yesterday. Its a two step process.

Ok...I'm amazed! There is still a hint of a ghost, but nothing that we can't live with. It worked wonderfully! :P

In fact, the area that I cleaned is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO clean that the rest of carpet looks really grungy! I never realized how dull it had gotten.

I'm planning on clean the whole carpet with it.

Just thought I'd pass on this tip. Its a goodie!!!

i glad you got it clean ,but have to say wow to having a white carpet :lol:i wish i could we have flooring and cant keep that clean without going over it a couple of times a day
The only carpet we have is in the bedrooms upstairs, and our bedroom which is downstairs. The dogs aren't allowed upstairs at all, and only in our room when supervised. The rest of the house is linoleum and hard wood, and even that needs cleaning all the time.
We also got a very light shade of carpet put in our house a little over a year ago. I vacuum twice a day and we have a cheap upright carpet cleaner that is really easy to use. Myself of hubby will steam clean the carpets once a week. We mix Bissel Pet Odor and Soil Remover with Nature's Miracle. We have been able to get all of the stains and odors that the dogs and cats have wanted to throw at us. I think we got our steam cleaner for under $100 at Walmart.
I am glad Pirate is feeling better, and your carpet is doing better.
Thanks for the tip. Stormi and co.
The living room is the only room that is carpeted. The upstairs is hard wood, and the kitchen and dining room are Italian tile.

I NEVER in a million years would have carpeted the living room in white, but that is what was here when we moved here.

I'm saving my pennies to replace the carpet with matching tile, so the whole first level flows.

I spend a ton of time on the floors...and the corners where the fur seems to collect.

But the carpet is the thorn in my side! 2 dogs and 2 cats is not the combination for carpet....especially when one cat is bulimac!

So glad I have a weapon to clean better now!

The hair at our house seems to collect at the corners of the furniture. The cats like to rub their entire body all over the lower half of the furniture and leave little fluffy presents on the carpet and the furniture. I guess since the cats were before the dogs, the cats taught the dogs this wonderful trait, so then the upper portion of the furniture collects the fluffy presents from the dogs. Before long my furniture will look like I covered it in black and white shag carpeting. LOL
It took about a month of having carpet to wish we would have tried the Pergo stuff. My dad keeps preaching to me that we don't want it in our house. He says it buckles after a few months. Has anyone put the wood laminate in their house and been satisfied? My mom put some in a couple of months ago and it looks great, but it hasn't been long enough to see any waves or buckles.

ok my mickey doodles has had black diareah I dont know what he is eating,he eats everything im wondering if he is eating plants,i know he chews on sticks ALOT.my other dogs dont have this problem, and i know he isnt getting food from us besides his dog food,so i guess im going to have to stay outside and watch him closely.i am however going to try that capture, because i have stains now on my light carpet  .thanks for the tips...
I think you will be really please with Capture. Shortly after I wrote my post about it, Mr. Khobi (the hurling Siamese God) hurled on the carpet.

I ran and grabbed the Capture, did the ol' two step, vacuumed, and it was good as new.

I really don't work for them or own stock. Its just that I've been so disappointed in all the other products I've tried, that I'm just amazed at this one.

Please let me know if this works for Mickey's boo boo, too.
We found this great Arm & Hammer product at our local Walmart, the one designed to loosen the pet hair from the carpets. We decided to give it try and we're really pleased. We vaccum the carpets once or twice a week (No children yet!) and this thing worked out great.

It says that it aslo helps on pet accidents and... It's true! It picked up on Sofa's barf a few weeks ago and it happened the same, the carpet looked so clean that now we have to get the whole carpet cleaned.
Saul and Dani,

I love your new avatar! It is adorable! I will probably get both a lick and a treat if Jack or Annabelle have anything to do with it. LOL
Stormi and co.
Thanks!

We'll be taking them trick or treating this halloween with the neighbor kids and my wife desgned their costumes with that image... Hope we get some treats too!
Saul and Dani, please post pictures of Sofa and Lennon in their costumes!!!
Tanya sometimes black diarreah can be old blood in the stools, I would have your pup checked by a vet.
Hi!

I use oxi-clean on my kitty messes. Of course, the carpet in my apartment is so gross, you'd never know it anyways!

My folks also use oxi-clean for their doggies messes (and boy do those two ever get into trouble!) and it seems to work wonders! They have very light (blond-ish) colored carpeting. I've never seen a stain remnant after my dad gets done using it!

Tanya- how is Mickey feeling? Poor baby!!!

P.s. We're thinking of renting a duplex or townhome this winter, rather than waiting until later next year to buy, so I may be able to get a doggie sooner rather than later!!! Hooray!

Karen :)
Thanks Saul, I've been thinking about the Arm and Hammer product and wondering where to find it. I'm going into town in ......yipes.....a few minutes and will look for it then.

Happy Trick or Treating! er, Lick or Treating.
