piggy heart......ideas needed....please

Heart is a perfect dog in every way except one!!!!!! She loves to dig in the dirt with her FACE!!!!

The picture below was taken about 1/2 hour AFTER her bath and her 1 hour brush...I made the big mistake of letting her go out after her "ordeal" and this is how she came in.......

Any suggestions on how to keep her nose to herself>>>>>????

LOL! None, she's just quite normal. Relax, she's a curious dog who wants to experience the world with her best tool, her nose. Let her exercise her mind and snout then clean up later. I'd be more worried about a dog who wasn't curious about his/her environment. Remember, she is a D-O-G and then are naturally messy
Welcome to my club.

It takes me about 4 hours to wash and dry my puppy and it is the same "thank you" that I receive.
When he is finish, I just take my "Wash'N Dry" soap to clean his face.

It is a purple waterless soap that you spray on the coat, you take a towel to wash the dirt off and then you brush. It dries by itself.
This is my product http://www.cherrybrook.com/index.cfm/a/ ... ry_Shampoo
I didn't buy it on this web site. I bought in a dog show. But it is the same product.
Thanks sooooooooooooooomuch!!!!!!!!

I will order it today, I have been using baby wipes and I go through a 1/2 a pack every time...
Similar products that I use (and may be available in your area) are Bio-Groom's Waterless Bath and #1 All Systems Self Rinse Conditioning Shampoo, Coat Refresher & Deodorizer.

Good luck!
I do the same with baby wipes. Funny, never thought I would be in that isle at the grocery store. Funnier is the look on peoples faces when I say they are for my dog.
Blue does the SAME thing alway a dirty face, have to take pic. Then nice clean water dish does for a drink and the YUK him and water dish. No wonder Sami tries to drink from the toilet.
Hi welcome in the sheepie world, I have a show bitch at home who is the same as long as I can keep her clean for the shows I do not mind her being a little dirty as long as she is happy.

Hugs from all at Tikki-ti-boo :ghug:
Glad to see I'm not alone here! I know we're in trouble if Dodger has been in our yard for a while and I haven't seen him. Usually he pulls sticks around the yard, and plays with the dogs next door (through the fence), but when he's not I can rest assured that he's using his face to garden with.

I use that, too but mostly, I've just given up. It's not like Clyde will ever be snow white so if I have to choose between shades of brown, I don't really care!

  Pearl is shade of brown most of the time...and it doesn't bother me as much.................

Maybe cuz Heart is so NEW~~~~ and every other part of her is "hurt-your-eyes" white..... I would like to keep ALL of her that white-white...but sometimes you just can't have everything you want..can ya?????

I don't use the products all the time. But, they are so valuable to clean him up in the face before he goes out in public - training classes or on therapy dog visits. The rest of him can be fresh and spotless, but that little face always gets into something before we leave!
At shows  we use corn flour to whiten parts that are dirty.
The beard can also stain if it is not dried regulary after drinking e.g. we have a towel lying around in nearly every room. If the stains are really bad then take some baking soda mix with a little water and make it into a paste, you then put this on to the beard (we use a pastry brush to paint it on) leave on for about twenty minutes and rinse off with vinegar water, then wash out with a blue shampoo. :clappurple:
Alternative mix a little baking soda in with the diluted shampoo same effect. :sidestep:

Since we started boiling the water before use we have reduced this problem a lot seems we have something in the water in our town.
