Sorry for your troubles! Computers can be frustrating! But the good news is that there is almost nothing cheaper in the computer world right now than monitors.
Be sure to do your homework, and you can get them very inexpensively. You might even find someone who has upgraded to a flat screen or another huge monitor who would be willing to part with their old one for nothing, or next to nothing. Good luck! |
Ron, do you have a preference with monitors? I have 2 regualr ones and one flat screen, and honestly, I hate the flat screen. I find on a normal monitor the colors are more vivd and clear, and the refresh rates are generally better. |
I guess it's a personal thing. I got a laptop now, and I love the LCD from it... My old monitor is sitting under my desk collecting dust now.
CRT's can have brighter colors, but I like the accuracy of LCD's because the do not tend to get affected by the color of ambient light that much, and I hate the flickering from a monitor with a slow refresh rate. |
No clear preference, though my laptop monitor made me edit all of my pictures from my trip on the dark side. (The laptop screen was too bright, so I toned down alot of the shots).
Anyway, I have a 19" monitor attached to the Laptop which Joan uses all the time (That 19" is too dark... between the two it's about right! lol) I am using a 15" flat panel... I have a 19" flat panel mounted in the motorhome above the driver's head (used as a TV to save wieght hanging over my head)... just sitting there..... waiting to go on another trip someday.... |
