You guys were all so great about cheering me on in my summer crazy-busy time...welcome now to my winter crazy-busy time! In the month of November I have a major show (2 of them out-of-town) every weekend. This weekend (Fri-Sat) is the Bad Girls of the North "Holiday Unique Boutique"...next weekend is "Bad Girls Do the Valley" (same group of artists, different town)....then the "Crafts Emporium" show....then The "Juneau Public Market" Whew! Im tired already...Wish me luck! |

Is there any art left in your art? You know, the part where the artist enjoys crafting the artwork? |
Good luck!! Have a great time and I hope all of your hard work really pays off for you! |

Oh absolutely! I whine a lot But really, I LOVE what I do. The insanity of the fair seasons is actually helpful, since Im a very procrastinating, panic-driven person (you know...the sort who always wrote her term papers the night before they were due ) and this way I HAVE to finish things...instead of fussing endlessly over them. The idea of an artist sitting around "waiting" for inspiration is a total myth....inspiration comes (for me) when you have a deadline, and your subconscious is forced into figuring out creative ways of MAKING it work...or else! I just (as in minutes ago) finished up the last details of two new originals that have been sitting in a half done state on my table for weeks now...and Im totally in love with them. I could have cheerfully "thought" about how to finish those pieces for weeks yet, if I hadn't had a big show that I needed them done for! |
Best of luck on your shows |
Good luck Laurel! I know you will sell out. |

I hope you have great shows every weekend, Laurel. I'm assuming these show are all indoors now, right? I'm afraid if I were at shows like this every weekend, I'd spend all my profits at the other booths. |
All the best to you! I'm sure you'll do well again. I really enjoy attending art shows, but I didn't enjoy it when I was selling items at the show. I do enjoy creating. |
Good luck, Laurel!! You'll do great, as usual. |
YAY!!! Have fun! I imagine things get so busy before the holidays since people want to buy gifts?
I looked up where the show was here, but with all the pressure I'm feeling right now... I don't think I'm up for walking around anywhere. Hope you get some sleep too!! |
Indeed it is show time!! All those Holiday gifts to purchase! Good luck! |
Have fun and good luck!
Btw, are there any Good Girls up there? |

Oh yes...definatly indoors! Yeah...its hard to not turn around and spend all that you make....especially at this show, which has many of my very favorite artists...but, luckily for me, lots of people like to "barter" Nope, Steph....no good girls up here! |

Good luck, sellout. Your things are great.........Kathy |
Yay! I survived week (show) one of the holiday season! Bad Girls went very well.
I had a really big surprise.... during set up the organizers called everyone over for an announcement, and said "Since this marks our 10th year of doing the Bad Girls of the North Shows, we've decided to honor the one artist who has been with us for EVERY one of our 26 events..."....ME! I got a gift certificate for dinner for two at a REALLY snazzy restaurant as prize for my "perfect attendance" Everyone of the artists also got a free drink from the bar to celebrate the 10th anniversary. Not only was it a successful show...it was VERY jolly! |
Fantastic! |
