Your trainer is in very good company..  ..... 
The Gentle Leader will help with control, but doesn't teach the dog how to walk nicely on a loose leash. Lots of treats and a clicker could do that. But I don't trust any dog 100% not to try to bolt for one reason or another, and the Gentle Leader will at least keep the dog from pulling you over. |
