Your team did great! Playing in the series with the franchise being around such a short time -- and did I hear the announcer correctly, you drew 4 million fans this year? That's basically sold out every game if you have a 50,000 fan stadium! How cool (cold?) is that? I think some of your guys started pressing -- really let Lester off the hook not staying back and taking pitches. Our guys did the same, so both starters went a long way. I think your manager kind of got away from his style of baseball a little bit and tried to play the Red Sox at their own game, instead of playing little ball and moving runners and scroing small but often. Our last two pitchers were totally gassed. I was yelling at the set telling Francona that Okajima was done -- don't wait for the next batter to pull him out, and I said to Joan "He is going to hit a home run here!" and right on that pitch -- Pow! Then Papelbon was gassed with one out, he just toughed it out and got lucky. You guys were one pitch away from tying/winning this game. I think you would have beat Josh Beckett in the next game and back to Boston to face a tired Curt Schilling and Daisuke, so it was a lot closer than it seems. See you next year? |
