Now, we went to see this expecting a romantic comedy. We did not get that type of movie. It is a romance, but although there are a few really funny parts, it is quite sensitive and moving. Gee, whiz...I was tearing up in the first few minutes! If you want a movie to cheer you up, and make you laugh out loud all the way through it, this is not quite that. We really enjoyed it, and would recommend it, but it is not real earth-shaking stuff. Cute and entertaining, but also quite sad, as you really feel sorry for the guy. A nice, family rated movie. My teen boys would find it a waste of time, but teen girls might like it. |

It's gotten wonderful review. I thought it would be a comedy too. Thanks for the heads up! |
Thanks for the review! I really want to see it and I love Steve Carrell as well. It sounds like it might be along the lines of the Family Stone that came out a while back. It has its funny moments, but it's not really a comedy.
This happened to me recently with Georgia Rule. I was home sick from work so I ordered it off of the DVR. All of the previews made it out to be a light-hearted, chick-flick, comedy type movie, but it wasn't at all. The previews for anything can be totally misleading if they want them to be. I'll make sure and bring kleenax to the Dan in Real Life movie! (And I won't mention to the hubby that it's not a comedy! ) |
